This will be my first year at PAX; hopefully the first of many. After deciding to attend, I started doing some research. The best source of information was this forum so I delved in; registering, getting a hotel room, signing up for Assasins, registering for the Pre-PAX Dinner, and making posts throughout, getting a feel for what PAX is all about. One of the many fascinating facets of PAX is the love for the DS. This hit me from the moment I started reading about PAX, and eventually I came to the conclusion that without a DS I would be missing out on something. Being a PSP owner, and a big fan of its modding community, I had to ponder much on this.
After spending much time in reflection, and a brief glance at my finances, I decided to do it. So, now I am on the DS bandwagon. The PAX community has swayed me. I'm not getting rid of my PSP, not by a long shot.
So, here I am, now with a foot on both sides of the fence.

Watch out for the pickets.
There are always other people with PSPs in the handheld lounge. We're gamers first and foremost, so plenty of people have both. You'll miss out on any fun pictochat shit going down, but you can still game, and you won't miss out on any MAJOR part of PAX witout a DS.
The only other thing I can think of is the year Ben of the Minibosses jumped on pictochat during their concert and asked people what song they wanted to hear. Then I think he drew a wang.
Oh he drew a wang all right. That's pretty much everything that anyone ever drew on pictochat. You open it up, and your DS explodes with scribbled manmeats.
The twin suns sink beneath the lake,
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.
(BTW i have pics of the pictochat rooms... though they may discourage people)
Oh and I own both as well, only reason I have a PSP is because of modding, of course.
I totally read reflect's comment that way. Even if it were true, you have to RESPECT_THE_REFLECT!
i just can't decide, black and blue, or just black
i sure wish they made a solid blue one.
INDEED
They did in Japan. It was Navy all the way around. They probably have it on eBay. the DS in Japan and the US both play games from all territories, so there is no reason not to get one if the price is right. Just remember they have different power outlets over there, so you'll need to buy a new DS lite charger at your local video game retailer (I believe they are cheap).
If you want a blue DS, then pay the bit extra to get the import.
You fail at eBay, that's the worst-priced one I've seen.

Edit: Or the one that comes with 4 games and is used.

tldr;
or you could just buy one from a retailer like Future Shop
If my current DS ever died, I'd probably import me a green one.
One of those lime green ones like they just released in Europe?
If so, I second that!
A green DS with a gold triforce on it?? You'll shoot your eye out, kid!!
How do I not fail at that this time?
猿も木から落ちる
There is Worms on DS?
Holy shit.
猿も木から落ちる
Tetris too, and the legendary clubhouse games.
man i have worms open warfare 2 on my PSP (cuz it's modded, of course) but haven't snatched it on the DS yet. I might just have to if we'll be playin some of that, especially with those rules.
Worms Open Warfare 2, Madden 09... That's all I have right now, I can always get more. And Madden '09 is actually pretty fun on the PSP, figured multiplayer would be worth a try if anybody has it.
Actually, that's not true. Japanese DS lite's use the same charger as the US ones.
Hmmmm, guess I'm thinking of Europe. Could have sworn the same rule applied to Japan. However, I've never been there, so I was just trying to give fair warning.
D&D Tactics, SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2, Wipeout Pure, Worms 2, and Metal Gear Portable Ops.
you can send mail back and forth to each other...not sure if there's any reason to :P
