Because a better cartoon was on at the same time.

Now, mind you, I am excited. I just liked the filmation one better.

So does anyone remember the episode about the end of the world? Started off in a subway tunnel with a glow and a voice? The day the world ends was written on the door down there, not to be opened until armageddon? That was a fucking fantastic episode.
This neo-feudalism would be more tolerable if our betters had fancy titles.
I do remember that one!
I used to have a VHS tape of the episode where all the subway rails became haunted and the trains turned into big, maggot-like monsters that would scream around the tunnels and terrify the commuters.
I haven't been able to find that episode since.
The first paycheck I get from the new job might actually go towards this box set instead of going to pay off my credit card.
Yes, I was a 6-year-old who was concerned about canon.
Keep in mind there was a He-Man live-action movie at the time.
There is always someone who says this in a Real Ghostbusters thread. The Filmation "Ghostbusters" was one of the worst cartoons ever created.

So fuck all the haters who said it probably is shit now that we're older. This ain't no GI Joe.
Anyone remember Exosquad? That one really deserves to stay in our memories only.
Also, hell yeah Ghostbusters!
ninja edit: Holy shit, they have all of Get Smart? Ghostbusters might have some competition.
I have watched some of the old GI Joe cartoons. They are awful now.
REAL Ghostbusters was one of my Saturday morning mainstays.

It's not that there's a lot of swearing, it's that they put in strong language even when it's out of place. Even beyond that, it just had that whole "eXtreeem" vibe to it.
There's a good reason for it though
Sometimes that sort of writing works. In Deadwood, it's so out of place that it's just distracting.
You'll find that the great majority of 80s cartoons do not hold up to the test of time.

Sometimes, these companies, they don't do that.

Grundel was the best.
Accept no substitutions!
The "People Busters" episode of RGB still freaks me out.

I am very curious what you think would've been a more apt solution to convey the lack of decorum and abundance of salty speech of that period's social outcasts and ruffians.
Well, i looked up the FAQ, it said that timelife.com doesn't ship outside the US and directed me to timelife.ca.
Fuckers don't even have it listed.
Dammit.

Also they have lasers on their heads.

the first couple episodes take a little bit to get their hooks into you, but if you give it a chance, it is simply one of the best series I've ever watched
