Any good trance / trip-hop artists still around?

OK, some of my favorite artists: lamb, Frou Frou / Imogen Heap, Portishead, Levinhurst, Sneaker Pimps, Metric, Ladytron...

basically, I have a thing for good ethereal, trancey music, mostly with female vocals. Are there any acts like this still around today? Most of the artists I just mentioned were from the early 00's and aren't together anymore, aren't producing music anymore, and/or aren't touring anymore. I'm itching to hit some live music because I haven't seen any this year, which is sad. I missed a recent ladytron tour, and also Death Cab which might have been nice to see (though I prefer smaller, more intimate venues, which no doubt Death Cab no longer plays). I am not tuned in to the music scene anymore - I am like one of those old people who only listens to the classic rock from his youth, but I want to hear some new stuff :) any suggestions on stuff I should check out?

Portishead is still around. They released their Third album like a couple of months ago.

Goldfrapp is like Ladytron only better. You didn't mention Tricky. He's old, but if you haven't listened to the Maxinquaye album you probably should. Like, right now. He's one of the guys from Massive Attack, with Martina Topley-Bird on vocals.

Edit: Oh wait? Live. Portishead and Goldfrapp should still be touring. Tricky, maybe not so much.

good stuff - I do like Goldfrapp, forgot to list 'em, and forgot to look up tour dates. For some reason, I thought Portishead was long gone too... it doesn't help that I mostly think to do my band research at work, where Myspace is blocked, and most bands mostly update their info via Myspace these days... -_- I've probably heard some Tricky but didn't remember - I'll add 'em to the list of music to check out. thanks :D

Check out dubstep in general, and Burial (one of the most significant artists) in particular. Its not trip-hop, but to me it feels like its logical successor. Stuff like this.

I like Massive Attack, Blue Lines album is good. Do the Gorillaz count? I like their stuff.

Do Zero 7 or Morcheeba count? I have no idea how much touring they do, though.

great suggestions peeps - extra bonus points to Jebu... Shrift in particular blew me away...

I only wish some of these artists were touring... I've been spending the evening methodically going through every artist I like, looking for ones that are touring in my area soon, and this is all I came up with so far:

    goldfrapp - nyc - 9/12

    death cab - atlantic city - 10/5

    stereolab - philly - 10/1

    beck - NY - 10/8 - 10/10

good stuff, but not for another month or two...

I guess a lot of them are maybe still doing / recovering from summer music festival circuits?

How about BT? He's considered by many to be one of the founders of Trance. He's definitely one of my favorites, and he frequently uses female vocalists.

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?

I second the recommendation for Late Night Alumni...that stuff is great.

Also, as much as I don't want to recommend ATB in a thread full of classics like Massive Attack and Imogen Heap, he does use female vocalists in almost every song and usually has some great beats and hooks.

I definitely <3 The Postal Service, but I already have their one album, and I think it was kind of just a pet project, one-off thing, so I don't think they'll be touring, like, ever :( especially since their whole shtick was creating music solo and mailing it to each other through the US postal service =/
