360 Arcadians: The Forum
In an effort to save the 360 megathread community, I have offered to host a forum over at out wiki, 360arcadians. Many of the same folks who post here post there, but it is not held to as rigid a standard of on-topicness as this forum now demands. Also, one of the better features of the site is an integrated calendar, which I will eventually be putting on the front page of the wiki, but it will serve as an easy place to schedule Game Ons for all the damn 360 games we want to play on Live without stepping on any toes. I hope that those of you who want to maintain the chat-like qualities of this thread (which at times were its best parts, even if it was to the detriment of actual news) join us over there.

Grr, I yearn for Lego Starwars. I long. I crave. I pine. Yet I cannot make myself buy it for the 360 price when I have a working ps2 sitting right nearby with which I could get a less costly version. Without achievements, mind you, but that mere thought is holding me back.

I have heard it is only 30$ if you get it from Gamefly though..perhaps that would be worth it, though I don't have an account.

I'm still undecided on Saint's Row and Dead Rising. I like both titles so far, but the buzz has kinda worn off. I'm only on the first day of DR but I'm hoping it will get a little more interesting. Then again if the 3 escaped convicts in a hummer with a .50 cal keep ruining my day, I might give up...

Saint's Row is cool, and as far as GTA comparisons go, it's better in just about every aspect. It seems like I might e about 1/3rd of the way through (30 or so % complete according to the progress bar). I don't know that it offers anything drastically new or inventive though, and I'm upset at the lack of boats and aircraft.

I'm not trying to do any "whoring" here, but some of you may wat to try gamefly. I used to drop serious dough on 360 games, but now that I'm using their service, I spend way less and still get to play about every game. The best part is, if I get a stinker, or a game that loses it's appeal quickly, with little replay value, back in the mail it goes.

On the subject of 360s...

I have a 56" HDTV and 360 games look fucking awesome on it. However, it will not be worth it to have that TV moved from Korea back to the world. So I'm selling it to some poor sap who is here for 18 more months, for 800. Now, I may be able to go half in on a TV with my father when I get back home, since I'll be living at home again for a year or so. Now, the question.

Should I buy a so-sharp-you-can-see-pores-on-peoples-faces 36-42", or a not-quite-so-sharp-but-still-pretty-good 60"?

That's a toughie. I have a 46" and I love it... but I'm not sure this room could handle anything much bigger without me having to turn my head to see everything.

I have a 42" LCD screen, the picture is large enough and the 360 in HD is jaw droppingly beautiful. Getting a 60" might have been nice, but I find a TV in the 40" range is the perfect size to take in all of the action without having to scan around with your eyes like in a movie theater.

That really depends on how your room is setup though. My television is about 8-9ft away from my couch and the size is perfect. If you have a larger room or a further distance and want to shell out the cash for a 200" TV, go for it.

Edit: Jazz, as usual, is thinking the same thing as I am up above.

I don't know yet; I hope so, for his sake, since that's all he really wants to do. I have to admire that level of determination and dedication. But I hope he's not out there again before I get the chance to go back to Blighty again, it'd be nice to see him. It's been a few years. The Sutcliffes are old family friends.

On topic because I don't want to be the reason this thread gets killed: I think my head's about seven feet from my TV, and I can see it all at once perfectly.

You may want to look at the Sony SXRD's. I have the 50'' and it's amazing. You can get 'em cheap at Circuit City. I got them to know about $800 off MSRP not too long ago.

Are any of you guys playing madden? It seems a little better in some ways this year, certainly more depth. But the menus are terrible, and the superstar mode is flat-out dumb. If you play as a qb for example, you are limited to playing on downs where its a throw. No input in play calling, no controlling the running back. 90% of the time you'll be watching the action rather than controlling it.

Is that firefox? In IE I do get a 2nd popup that mentions an expired certificate, usually I just get a warning that I'm going to an 'unsecure' site. I'm surprised Microsoft would let that slip but I'm sure it'll be updated shortly.

If you have Live Gold you qualify. That is all they look for.

I just bought the JSRF and Sega GT limited edition disc that they used to bundle with the XBox off of Amazon...however, I don't even have the console. I mostly just wanted to buy it while I had the chance, because I love the the Jet Set Radio series. Basically, my question is as follows: Will it work with the 360? I've been thinking about buying one more and more.

Not yet, but Microsoft has specifically stated that they are working on JSRF... so expect it eventually.

man, people weren't kidding when they said the AI was stupid in DR. Here I am, escorting 4 people, and I'm in the warehouse, trying to go as fast as I can, I thought I could exploit the dumb zombie AI seeing as they are less agressive when you are carrying a survivor. Boy was I wrong, they went after one of my survivors, and the dumb bitch couldn't get them off. I was like.. fuck this I decide to use the Double Lariat to wipe the zombies, but I was realized too late that I had the sword equip. It ended up killing her.. I shouted out.. FUCK!.. and reseted.. I"m trying better next time. I'll see if I can kill the snipers in less than 15 seconds.

I'm rusing because Girl Hunt was in red, and I know I had less than 3 hours to haul my ass over there.

Good thing the achivement faq said it I only need to do the cases til 5-1 and I'm free after that.

I rescue Jennifer from the cultists. I bring her all the way to the elevator. I use my sledgehammer to kill the zombies in the elevator. Jennifer runs in front of me while i swing. Her head ASPLODE. I cry. I play enchanted arms.

Enchanted Arms is a lovely little game. It kind of has that Disgaea "I want to make my characters gods" thing going on. Very addictive.
