Okay, starting a second playthrough, one question:

all the shrines are dead, no items. Am I doing this wrong?

You can play through selected levels by going to the map in Aesir and hit the X button and jump to level. I recommend trying this :).

I actually enjoy this challenge mode quite a bit more. It certainly keeps you busy and on your toes with mixes of enemies. Plus, it somehow, even in challenge mode, makes the ice forest a little bit less evil.

I tried this out last night there were some changes to the layout i really liked. If Too Human 2 had some random level generation, it would be awesome.

So, on a whim I take a stroll the the world tree. Two level 3 charms, one of which is the life leech. 4k undead? Bring it on.

I've been hearing this game is somewhere between mediocre and good. How does that happen? I mean this game has been in development for years. How do they take all that time and not put out a AAA title?

Well, probably because this version of the game has only been in development for a quarter of the often repeated time.

Yep, and Too Human is very replayable and there are multiple characters and tree branches you can try. Co-op is a freaking blast.

Ha, just remember exactly where you are going. It's not too hard though seeing as such that when you go down a random path, all you have to do is backtrack to the well to return to your entrance. But as to the latter question I have no idea. Best thing to do probably would be get a cheap set of armor and deck it out with Loot Drop runes, then go carousing through the World Tree. I bet that would work.

Oh and what is the Charm that creates that lovely Black Hole thing?

Yes, you can trade items (Weapon, Armor, Charms, Runes or Blueprints) for another item for bounty, or gratis. Up to 4 items at a time + bounty.

After you get used to it, it flows really well. Fine aiming with like fierce attacks does take some getting used to, and even then that part is a little fiddly. The sliding / serving / aerial combat works surprisingly well, probably works about 95% of the time exactly the way it's supposed to (which given the number of enemies you face in this game, is pretty impressive).

One piece of advice....roll. Always. Everywhere.

As I said in the previous thread, a DLC random challenge dungeon would be fuckawesome.

Edit: Or weekly prebuilt challenge dungeons, with games and a leaderboard and shit. Time Trial, Hardcore Mode, etc etc. Of course, make it so you can go back and download previous weeks' maps...

But that Boss on Ice Forest, that was just...not fun. It wasn't hard, it wasn't frustrating, just boring and unfun. Compared to the epic awesomesauce of the run into that tower, it was a letdown.
So far, I've only died twice but once was right here. I had already used all the breakables in the area before the fight started since there was less than zero indication I'd be back through the area. And apparently he can go into a ruiner with no tell completely at random and regardless of being stunned. Champion vs. thing-that-can't-be-juggled is none too fun, either.

It's worse because that was such an easy fight.

    Edit:

It's times like this that I wonder if I'm playing the same game some of you are. I'm noticing way too frequently that melee juggles and air finishers just don't work. As in, I slide over to the juggled enemy, but under them, and proceed to attack the air beneath them. I do no damage, but we both stay airborne as if the blows were connecting. Ditto for ground finishers, except with attacking slightly to the side of the targeted enemy and doing no damage. I also notice pretty frequently that slides go to the wrong place. If an enemy moves, or another gets between us, Baldur will slide over to some random place 10 feet or so away from the enemy and attack at nothing. That's aside from the usual "moves not coming out" issues (usually finishers and juggles) for near as I can figure no reason and slides not happening despite being completely idle and the target circle under the enemy turning green. If I were to wager a guess, I'd say it's closer to 80% of what I do working correctly when fighting a large group. Small groups and single enemies it's much closer to perfect.

Guys tokens are really confusing me. I've been running through chapters via aesir accumulating tokens as I progress through the level, however, when I kill the last boss, they do not disappear. I thought you 'traded' in tokens for good loot when you killed a boss?

I think that tokens are just the game's way of showing through the stats page which part of the dungeon you have passed through. It correlates to the way you choose a part of the dungeon to go through when you wish to replay it by accessing the map in the middle of Aesir.

I've got a level 33 Cybernetic Commando that beat the game and today I just started a Human Defender who is at 22. I think it is safe to say I am addicted to Too Human. I had some problems adjusting with the Ice Forest but once I figured out how everything worked and how to handle certain situations I became unstoppable.

I keep getting flashbacks of my PSO days, staying up to the passing out point trying to get that next level or to see what loot I could score. I feel like a kid in a candy store riding a rabid bull that is on full tilt through a china shop. The total difference in gameplay between Commander and Defender has me awestruck. Inventing new ways to get around polarities has become such a pleasure. I can only hope that in order to extend the life of this title SK releases a randomized Dungeon DLC pack. Co-Op is great fun with a friend or someone who knows what they are doing, and having challenge areas like that openly available at any time would be awesome.

Maybe 95% was a little optimistic. I have found that as I get the timing down though, I rarely run into many of the above issues like I used to. Biggest thing I still experience would be doing a lunge attack when I want to fierce...and I'd say that happens about 10-15% of the time. Which usually isn't much of a problem, unless I'm fighting polarity trolls D:

The other issue I have on a rare occasion is that the enemy I want to slide to nearest me doesn't register as a target. But again, I'd say that happens to me maybe 5% of the time. But I haven't played a slide-heavy character like the Zerker yet, so maybe it's worse for them.

And this is of course all referring to SP, as Co-op has the occasional hitbox issues due to lag.

I find that periodically I will forget that "for the love of pete don't touch the left stick during combat unless you are moving without fighting, or going for a fierce/finisher"

If you start moving the left stick in combat, baldur goes nuts and his attacks are slow and useless, once you are only using the right stick, suddenly it all works again.

Yes basically you go to the hub world and go back to any previously visited areas. The layout changes and there are more enemies to fight.

I have gotten signifigantly better at this game as I have played it more. I just got a Unbeatable achievement, in helheim. My gear is pretty good now, but a lot of it is just knowing when to shoot and when to melee. The damage meter helps with that. If I'm doing less than 100 damage per shot I'm doing it wrong.
