if after photokina the XSI kits fall to around 600, it will be very hard to resist. on the plus side, the new IS kit lens is supposed to be pretty great, and i'm thinking once I get accustomed to the camera i'll pick up a 50mm f/1.8 II

canon has the f/1.8 for under 100, really great deal, an f/1.4 USM for about 300, and a f/1.2 pro line for like a grand and a half.

They used to make a 50mm f/1.0.

It goes for around $6k if you can find one. The one time I got to shoot with one was pretty cool, but the optics are just shit until about f/2.8.
