I got the game and am creating the team now! Well, not RIGHT now. I just booted up the game and I am forced to make myself and do a tutorial.

OK, from the looks of it, I think we have to use an already created jersey. NHL, International, etc. Suggestions?
edit: I am just going to use the Thrashers jerseys right now to see if I can change it in the league homepage or something. If not, I will wait until some of you post to get an opinion of what to make the jerseys. More info to come.
edit: OK, I can change the jerseys after I make the team. But it looks like we are stuck with real life jerseys. No custom logos or anything. No custom colors either. So, everyone decide on a jersey. Also, apparently I have to type in everyone's name for the invite to the team. WTF EA!?
1. Keep It Simple Stu..Sucker. Try to select one that doesn't have all that swoopy shit all over it. Seriously, old school shit like the Leafs or Islanders simply looks better than all that goofy crap they're using to make money in merchandising.
2. Look Elsewhere For Inspiration. I'd put money that the NHL will be the prime source for uniform selections. So check out some of the minor leagues or international kits.
3. If Possible, Find A Colour Scheme That Matches The Forums. Frankly speaking, I'm a big fan of Dark Blue and Orange combinations for uniforms (I am a Mets fan...), but I really wouldn't care in the end. I'd rather the design selected be unique rather than conformist.
As a note, I imagine that Red and Blue or various similar combinations would be a very common pattern. I would avoid that personally even though I'm also a Rangers fan.
The order I recommend for searching:
1- Simple and Unique.
2- Simple and Common.
3- Simple and Colour Matching.
4- Nearly anything else.
...
98- Anything with Goofy, Swoopy designs.

Unless they have the old Nordiques or Whalers* designs... I could probably be talked into those...
*The blue and green combo in use before the move. I never cared for the green and white look when they joined the NHL.

Can you use one teams jersey and another team's logo? Can a team's alternate logo be used?
I'm thinking use the Atlanta Thrashers jersey...
......with either the alternate logos of the Flames or Avalanche. I mention the Avalanche one because it kinda looks like a foot that's on fire if you let your imagination go.

Some games have problems if guest accounts are involved. Or maybe somebody is using a third party something (controller or headset).

edit: I like that they have the nhl 94 controls. My one friend used them and he played just fine with us. That is one thing I aprrove that EA has done.

I will add you after this game. We are 4-1 overall. One team quit in the last seconds of losing by two goals and one quit in the 2nd period while they were up 1-0. Woo!

edit: Great game guys. Sucks that we lost in the shootout, but what can you do? Sucks I didn't get to shoot though. I am probably the best chance we had in the shootout.
I swear, scoring that goal in the third period to tie the game...it felt like we were playing in the NHL and I flipped shit. So awesome.

NHL 09 somehow topped it completely and is probably one of (if not the) best sports video game ever made.
