The day continues to brighten! I got home at lunch from work for half an inch of snow, which didn't even stay solid on the road! GOD I love South Carolina and our fear of frozen water.
Going for a "one big bag" update this time. Tell me how you like it vs the multiple post style.
First order of busisness is dealing with the wreck from last time, but since we're a bunch of Fucking Pussies ™ we're waiting for dawn. When it creeps up, Khavall 2, Wheezer 2, mrsnackroad 2, Sunstrand, Zandracon, Velmeran 2, joshua1 and Roshin load up. Velmeran 2 gets to try out the Beekeeper armor, on the theory that keeping the guy with the medkit alive is a Good Thing.
Roshin is first out, and sees company right away.
A single burst puts paid to that alien. There's another further off, though! Joshua1 runs out to deal with it, and gets “rewarded” by being reaction-shot in the leg, nearly sending him to the ground. But he manages to throw in a grenade and take the Chaser down anyway. Velmeran runs out and does that medic thang, while everyone else piles out of the transport.
Next turn, Velmeran finishes fixing up joshua1, and the squad spreads out, seeing nothing. That ends with the sound of Zandracon pissing his pants as a Hallucinoid and Reaper come into view. That's bad enough, but there's worse coming.
Khavall gets brain-raped by the aliens, turns, and guns down mrsnackroad. The later is alive for now, but with a Hallucinoid and Reaper closing in and more behind them, we aren't likely to have time to patch him up. On the plus side, one of those aliens in the dark shoots the Hallucinoid in the ass.
Sunstrand pops off a rocket, but misses entirely.
Velmeran does much better: Not only does his burst kill the Halluicinoid, but the last shot flies into the dark and blows away another alien, too.
Roshin and Wheezer can't get shots at the Reaper, so they go for mining the space in front of it, instead.
Things go to shit after that. Zandracon eats a Plasma Grenade and dies.
Khavall AND Roshin get mind-controlled. Khavall turns to Velmeran and holds down the trigger.
So much for “keeping the guy with the medkit alive”. The Reaper runs past the grenade barrier and lives, but this turns out to be a good thing- when Roshin turns on Sunstrand, the Reaper's fat ass takes all the hits instead.

Anyway sir, I thought I'd send an e-mail to say "Hello!". Things go well in the R.U.T, although I sometimes feel like more of a Janitor than anything - being one of the only humans in a building full of angry clones. To be honest though they aren't always angry, sometimes they are laughing hysterically, plotting or weeping over the sensitive areas they got shot in.
I have the next batch of goop to ship back to you for the next mission, I heard the previous one didn't go so well!
Anyway, I had a suggestion. Me and the boys with Vehicles Division have been filling our time doing support tasks when we can be so useful to you! I've been driving a forklift, Athenor has been sitting in the Interceptors making aeroplane noises, Lawinator has built a cardboard box fort and the Rookie fmz65 has been filing reports questioning our competence.
Sometimes we get to fly the Interceptors or Transport, which is awesome, but what you need is a Tank! Send us out first, we have the armor - we can take anything those aliens can throw at us! I heard R&D spent 4 million on Beekeeper Armor. Frankly sir, I think they must all be drunk.
I've managed to salvage some bits from the hovercar, I'll put them with the next transport from R.U.T.
Well eitherway, I bought UFO : Afterlight instead. They're seperate games.
Afterlight is cool because you have a lot of evolutions to the X-Com formula, not that I remember any right now. The world map is a lot more fun, it's kind of like a resource game, every sector has its own strengths, the story is also epic and I believe you have several races to fight again. Also you get to build robots and other fun stuff. I give it 8 out of 10.

God Khavall, can you do anything right? Start popping pills and drinking a couple of brews before heading out so when an alien tries to mind rape all it can hear is "I can feel my stomach. Oh God, it's doing that burbling thing again". Now you don't have a stomach anymore. Hope you enjoyed it while it was solid.
The transport limps back, and the single shell-shocked survivor falls out. Two tanks motor on past him. We ARE going to take that wreck, but we don't have enough to fill the transport, so its Armor Time! Fmz65 and Lawinator, to be specific.
Fmz65 is first off, and spots a Reaper. Four cannon shells later..
...and its not dead. Oh, and he didn't roll forward enough, so he's blocking the ramp and Lawinator can't get a shot. Three hits, no kills?!
The Reaper does much better. FOOM!
Lawinator spots a Hallucinoid, and therefore thinks “fuck this” and runs away. They can KEEP the wreck if they want it that much!
Leaving the wreck aside, we need replacements. So the tank is sold (it takes up a soldier slot for some god-awful reason) and more recruits added. Say hi to Typhus733 II, Zone II, see317:, Apharmd, 4rch3nemy, SanderJK, and BlitzAce.
Another set of armor is produced and WMain heals up. The Power Plant in the Tube Room and RUT is finished, letting us add another hanger to the construction list in each base. And then there's this. New toys!
“But what does this mean for me?” It means that we can throw two more of you unto the breach per mission, at least when we get one built. Next on the list: Mind Shields. For reasons that I hope are obvious. And lo, help: all the workshops we added have finished, tripling our production capability! The newbies heal up a bit later, along with Omnicron9999. And the- company!
The interceptors go have some fun...
It'll be frosty company- it went down in the antarctic region. For next time, that one will be.
God damn it, I have another awesome mission that ends in my death, and this time the not so friendly fire. Still though, I got two kills from a single auto-shot, go me!
