Good game Ink. You got haxxed. If you're curious, what I meant to do with Bob was Sub repeatly and hope for Sand Veil hax. If that failed MSG3 could take Empoleon which is what I ended up doing.

If you predict a switch, then use a different attack. There wasn't anything Hippowdon could have done in that situation, so even if you predicted wrong it wouldn't hurt you much.

Well, in that case, the best course of action would have been flamethrower, which would have been resisted and non-STABed, so yeah.

It wouldn't have been resisted. Water resists but Steel is weak to fire, so it would do normal damage.
You would still want to switch most likely, but at least some damage would be done.
