Like Bacon said last night: This is just a test to see who's not clever. Being the recipient of a flame isn't what we're looking for, it's about how well you can flame someone else. Think of it this way: "Your mom" is worth 1 point. Personal attacks are worth two points. An entire page of why the subject of the flame is stupid is still worth only two points, no matter how long the words are that you use. Anything worth five points or more are those things that are said that make other readers laugh out loud, but also scare them away from typing "lol" lest they be the subject of your next flame.
And as a corollary, the best way to fight a battle of wits is unarmed. If someone flames you, just move on. You'll score more if you choose your targets instead of keeping a rivalry with the first person to ever flame you.
