Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Welcome to the 2008-2009 NBA season. Will the Celtics repeat? Will Starbury find a job? Will the Blazers actually be good, or will Oden's kneecaps fall off? Chris Paul or BronBron for MVP?
If anyone wants to make a fantasy league, I'll advertise it in the OP/title
After inadvertently being poked in the eye by Boris Diaw in practice, [Amare] Stoudemire suffered a partially torn iris, an injury which, while relatively minor, has a high incidence of reaggravation. Consequently, team physicians are advising Amare to take precautionary measures.
Fortunately for fans of old-school fashion, that means there’s a good chance we’ll see STAT rocking goggles on a permanent basis.
I've never done a fantasy league before despite having watched basketball since before I could walk, so I have a question.
How many people should I put in my pre-draft rankings if I don't want my guys to be drafted according to their default rankings in the later rounds? I'm not going to able to reach a computer during the draft on Wednesday so from what I understand it's all going to be left up to my pre-draft rankings.
Do we even have 18 people who want to play? Right now there's 13 signed up.
I've played in an 18-team league before, and it's significantly harder than the standard 12-team setup. Picking the Lebrons and Kobes is easy, having a win or loss decided by Sasha Vujacic vs Chris Quinn not so much.
As a Clipper fan I've had my share of problems with some of Baylor's decisions, even though some of them did turn out to be right - not re-signing Olowokandi after it looked like he might be something decent, for example. I definitely disagree with handing the entire franchise over to Dunleavy. I can think of very few instances where that has worked out well, and many where it has failed miserably.

Blazer sleeper bench players draft pick recommendations from a ~*~season ticket holder~*~ who watched some exhibition games:
Nicolas Batum - kid is slick, played in French leagues and is only 19
Shavlik Randolph - can produce on offense, part of the group of bigger guys that will fill in while Oden rests
Rudy Fernandez - might actually end up starting
Sergio Rodriguez - has confidence issues, but seems to be overcoming them, will get PT while Blake is hurt
Joel Pryzbilla - blocks, boards, not a lot of O
Ike Diogu - garbage big guy minutes + some offensive production
Avoid:
Luke Jackson - hustle player, won't see a lot of minutes and won't be scoring
Jerryd Bayless - needs work
Steven Hill - scrubby scrub nod to Portland's hipster image
Oh god I'm going to be posting this video all over the fucking internet this year. God bless Beno Udrih. He is instantly my favorite Non-Warrior in the league for this.

The effect isn't complete unless he takes them off for FTs, though.

We have really shallow teams so we can afford to have more of them.

ps please kill me if I ever get Sasha on my team.
But seriously, we deserved to lose. Kobe is such a bitch and he didn't step up when we needed it. Best player in the league my ass.

I never heard that West VA story before.
