I want to go in, but I'm not gonna.
I'll probably get in on this next year, when I can actually buy something cool for somebody rather than a cheapy $10 gift.
Also, mixing countries seems kinda off...
It shouldn't be too bad for anybody participating, no more than $10 shipping costs, I would suppose.

of course I can't send you any of our indigenous American wildlife if you're overseas...

Formatted for this board by placing it on a piece of wood and banging a few nails through it...
I found the best way to shop for your santa is to do a search for everything authored by your person. You can see what they comment on, what they claim to own, the games they enjoy and it really helps guide your gift.
If my Santee were someone overseas I honestly would look at overseas online shops that would accept USD and that way you can still find good items but wouldn't have to pay as much for shipping since it wouldn't be shipping overseas.
Urine. I mean, I'm in. European. Well, I'm actually not. European, that is. But that's ok, I'll ship there.
For once, I'm doing this thing!
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
Gonna search down your username and scour the internets for info on you. Then I'll figure out who you is and what you like. Like a stalker.
Ooooh. :-)
And I've gots your address!
Man, do I like to edit my poasts.
So anyway, here's hoping my target is a piss-poor social butterfly.
It's OK that I sent the e-mail from an e-mail I didn't register on PA with, right?
And once I found out who my receiver is, I'm going to make it my personal mission to stalk them indefinitely until I can find the perfect present for them.

I'm in as well. I can't afford a ton, but it'll be nice to give presents.
I would defenitly like to do this. However, I'm relatively new to these boards, and I don't really know everyone all too well.
Do you guys think I'd be able to?

Sure. We were discussing this in vent, and basically just try to go through your santee's old posts to see what they might like.
I was in last year, but after I sent my gift it was returned from FedEx and broken (I think that in transit to Europe they pretty much beat the shit out of it), and then I made arrangements for my santa to send my santee my gift, because I think my gift was returned as well. I don't remember, that was a really shitty month for me. I had sent a couple of CDs (the Serenity soundtrack and another, I forget), and a jar of dirt from America (my backyard), so I got back a box full of dirt and pieces of CDs. I was not pleased.
It was really complicated, but my santee got his gift in the end.
That said, I'd love to do it again this year. I've got a couple bucks saved up and it'll be fun trying to stalk my santa's post history to see what would be the greatest gift. Either that or a bottle of Johnny Walker and a couple of pictures of me, nude, and covered in peanut butter. I'm kidding.
The last time I did one of these (not on PA, elsewhere), after making a pretty detailed description of the kind of things I'm interested in, the guy who drew my name out said "I didn't know what to get you, so I just sent you four mix CDs with my favorite songs on them".
On the same site, we had a book lottery thing where I didn't receive anything at all.
I am still thinking about signing up - last year was great fun, but I already signed up for SE++ thinking there would be no G&T Secret Santa.... I might do both, but hey, I still got time to decide on that.
Man, fuck Christmas. I'm putting up a HumanLight Day tree.
[spoiler:f7adef2cee]Not really. Speaking as an atheist, I think the attempts to make secular humanist "holidays" that essentially just mirror the religious ones are silly in the extreme.
But I don't celebrate Christmas either.[/spoiler:f7adef2cee]

I also do not celebrate Christmas, but I like giving and getting gifts, so I just see this as an excuse to give and get some cool stuff to/from people I don't know.

I like the way this is being handled. Rock on.
Not gonna sign up yet, waiting on a couple of things, but I'm interested.

But then again, it might be cool to receive something from a foreign country.

I'm interested in participating, but would hate to cheap out. Are there any 'unofficial guidelines' in regards to how much you spend?
Do you guys think I'd be able to?
Spend as much as you feel happy about. A really great $10 gift is going to be much better than $30 of junk.
Someone has to send you an empty box.
My inventory is pretty low on those right now

So... yeah.
All I can send you is terminal smoker chicks with lung cancer.
Well, I guess beggars can't be choosy
