Actually the whole point of this event is to clean house.
Even if Ultimatum ends up sucking (fingers crossed that it dosen't), UXM is ending (sorely overdue) and Millar is coming back to do 24 issues of Ultimates Avengers which should be awesome.
Plus we'll always have Bendis on USM.
But Ultimatum looks to be Ultimates 3.5: The Continued Loebening

I used to be really excited by what they had done with ultimate Thor and I loved what they did with Loki but Loeb has mangled the character beyond all recognition.
Maybe he needs to be let go.

I stopped buying it after that. I have no idea what happened next. If it's available on Marvel Digital one day I'll take a look.
Ultimate Proteus was bad enough (the whole World Tour arc really)

No it really gets so much worse. I didnt mind the Proteus arc that much, although it was the worst bit of Millar's run. Then I enjoyed both Bendis and BKV's runs on the book, Kirkman was the one who did the Cable arc and then really turned the book into a shithole.
