No, see, I like adrenaline as much as anyone else. Roller coasters are fun. Being fed ideas of horror, not so much.

If that woman's cleavedge made one more person pick the game up off the shelf, it was a net positive for microprose. And to be blunt, if taking her top off could have increased sales enough to get a sequel, I'd endorse it 100000% because I like playing great games.

I will admit that scary video games scare the piss out of me much more so than movies. For me it's

    video games>literature>movies

Literature makes me paranoid. Movies can be a little tense and are damn fun/entertaining but with video games i'm sleeping with the lights on clutching a baseball bat hoping to make it til morning.

Yet that is exactly what i see here.

Fatal Frame II scared me so much that I gave that sum-a-bitch away. Recently I got drunk and installed silent hill 3. It was all good until I started to sober up then I realized the error of my ways. Even when there's a pause screen I expect something to ruin my day. It's awful.

I thought the first Saw was pretty much shit. That's why I find it incredibly odd that I've enjoyed them since then. I guess maybe I just got past the idea that they were going to have some neat twist or actual horror in them, and realized they were just pretty much torture porn popcorn movies.

But look at how gorey this is! Plus this trap is brilliant. You can live if you...EAT YOUR OWN FACE. WOW I BET YOU NEVER EXPECTED US TO GO THAT FAR DID YOU?

    blah.

Only the first movie pulls a deus ex on you, the others have twists that are great, but you can figure out if you're paying attention.

Spoiler one or two of them for me. I end up raging so hard while I watch the Saw movies that I black out bits and pieces.

They're not, especially the first one.

Everyone seems to think that the 1st Saw was really gory, when it actually had very little.

I was kind of hoping I didn't see at least one of the saw movies...oh well.

Still there's fuckall when it comes to clues. The mystery aspect comes from things that you could not possible know and that the characters could not deduce.

    tension + gore + a surprise = saw

You could just as easily come up with a good Saw movie as these guys.

See, that's the problem with most of the people who go see the movie, or hate it.

They won't pay attention to the plot, or how it interweaves between the other movies.

And many of the people who see the movies, don't know what the hell is going on, so they tune out the story and just go for the visuals.

Actually, the twists at the end of the movies are done quite well, Hostel has nothing to do with Saw and was written by Eli Roth before the first was released, and only in Saw 3 were some of the traps uvwinable.

But hey, I don't think I could change your mind.

I admit to bias since Jigsaw is just so adept at avoiding police whether it be in the first one where he was caught and escaped in a horribly stupid fashion or the beginning of the second with the lame ass traps there.

And in the third one with the dumbass husband who never thought to question what the hell the device around his wife's neck was before killing the only guy who knew.

    Whoops.

The whole point of the 3rd movie was that the husband was a rage-filled d-bag and only thought about himself.

Not to mention that the other things you mentioned are straight up opinion.

Well of course it's opinion, I'm not trying to argue facts.

But really the husband was such a rage-filled d-bag yet he continually tried to save the people he felt wronged him, and even got one out before he was killed in a lame fashion.

I disagree. My problem with the SAW series is that after the first movie the plots were garbage and they were basically gore pornography.

    My wife loves horror movies.

Since she's Japanese, she enjoyed doing Sadako impressions every time she got out of the shower and shitting me up.

She enjoyed Audition greatly and kept going 'kiri-kiri-kiri' at inopportune moments for quite some time after.

    Yeesh.
