2012 - Vaguely defined disaster strikes! (Crackpot Theories Now in OP)
So this is the teaser trailer for Roland Emmerich's new epic disaster flick, 2012
It's unclear what exactly the cataclysm is supposed to be here, but rest assured it will cost millions for the FX department and look really cool
Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. '2012' is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.
Technically there would be no survivors if the world really ended
Also, 2012 on the Mayan calendar is simply the end of the 13th B'ak'tun and not the actual end of everything, but rather signals a tremendous shift in the order of the world
So talk about how much money this movie will or will not make
and maybe we can talk about crazy 2012 apocalyptic scenarios - like Sarah Palin running for President!
EDIT
For everyone's amusement, I include here a link to Survive 2012, which is no doubt full of absolutely laughable mystical shit
Pac Man's character is difficult to explain even to the Japanese -- he is an innocent character. He hasn't been educated to discern between good and evil. He acts more like a small child than a grown-up person. Think of him as a child learning in the course of his daily activities. If someone tells him guns are evil, he would be the type to rush out and eat guns. But he would most probably eat any gun, even the pistols of policemen who need them.

One time, I had a friend over to play a bit of Red Alert on my LAN. During the game he said he needed to go to the bathroom, so we paused it. After about 10 minutes of wondering where the hell he went, I get up and go to check on him.
Once I was taking a poop at a restaurant and a kid crept underneath the door into my stall. I let out a big fart and then he threw up all over the floor in front of me and I just stared at him.
His predictions for this transcendent event were wide ranging and varied, depending on his audience, and different times he conjectured the following: the mass of humanity would, by means of some technology, become mentally conjoined in a great collective; the moment in which time travel became a reality; the birth of self-conscious artificial intelligence; a global UFO visitation; and occasionally he even expressed doubt whether anything at all would happen. However, McKenna claimed that there was no contradiction between these scenarios, as they might all happen simultaneously.

that would be awesome, the UFO's will come just as we form into an AI collective consciousness and time travel away

You mean before they showed all the newspaper clippings about a cult and all the incidents that surrounded them right?
More like Dimethyltryptamine.
But I have no idea how that smells.
