It felt pretty warm today when I left the house.

It turns out it's -3 C.

WHAT HAVE I BECOME?

I am frozen to my chair.
They shut off the heat in the apartment.
    Even my cat is cold.

This is the worst thing ever.

Also it is 69 degrees here, which is colder than it was this morning. What gives, nature?

We have free heat in the apartment.
So, the apartment manager gets to decide when to turn it on and off.
I've already complained twice so far, but no luck.

I'd say the slippers take it from "worst thing ever" right into "best thing ever"

this is the problem with central heating
I faced the same problem with my last place
either I had to open windows because it was too stuffy, or I was freezing my ass off

I've not been heating my apartment past 73, so it's slightly cool and I wrap up with a blanket.

That said, in relation to the OP, I went outside in jeans and a T-shirt less than an hour ago, didn't think it was too cold at the time.

Turns out it was below freezing.

    nah man
I just prefer to use clothes to keep me warm than pay more in electrical bills
that range is usually warm enough for me to be comfortable in jeans/pajama bottoms and a t-shirt
and if I get chilly I can throw something else on or turn the heat up a bit if I want
