Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I Got a Nintendo DS for Christmas, What Now?
Posts
Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass - Was actually a very fun game, a little short, but it was a joy to
play.
Chrono Trigger - Thought by many to be one of the greatest JRPGs ever made, and a game I've played many times on the SNES.
I liked Super Princess Peach a lot more than Super Mario Brothers, I found SMB to be too slidy, like every level was an ice level. SPP was actually a very strong platformer, but it wasn't very challenging.
Ninjatown surprised me how good it was, and I usually hate tower defense style games.
Trauma Center and the Ace Attorney series are both very good choices, same with Layton. Cooking Mama, especially the second one, is way more fun than it should be.
There are more, but I can't think of any more right now. Don't have all my games here DS.

Another game I recommend (if you can still find it in stores) is Resident Evil: Deadly Silence. A port of the original RE1, the game seems to have been transfered from the PS1 quite well without any noticable port-loss. The game features the classic version of the game as well as a Rebirth mode with more enemies and puzzles that feature use of the DS' stylus and microphone. The stylus comes into play as well in special and random first-person-view knife-battles that require slashing at oncoming zombies with your knife.
If you're the kind of person with a bit of patience, you could try out Rune Factory 2. Part of the Harvest Moon farm-sim series, RF2 and it's predecessor add dungeon-exploring to the mix. When you're done tending to your field and chatting up one of several eligible girls in the nearby village, you can check out what's going on in monster-filled caves, clearing them out to take advantage of their frozen-season status to raise valuable crops you wouldn't have time to plant and harvest in your time-vulnerable yard. RF2 offers up a generational tale, with the second half of the story focusing on the kid you have with your chosen wife and the boyfriends/girlfriends available to them.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
I just treated that part like it was the last level and gave up. I dread to think what the Wii version is like.

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Yeah, it does get crazy hard. But it's not impossible, if you have a stupid amount of persistence.
You are a bad person and should be ashamed of yourself.
They are like playing through a novel where you love all the characters and never want it to end.
It's the better version of that game
hey satan...: thinkgeek amazon My post | my website
Short list:
More battles with Team Galactic (plus they are more sinister this time)
Different outfits for the main characters (for the colder weather)
A storyline involving a "distorted world" you can enter through a portal on top of Mt. Coronet
The ability to re-challenge gym leaders (YES!!)
Battle Frontier
new wi-fi arcade area
Also, why is America's Top Model being released in Europe before America, or at all for that matter?
"Wow, Sara Lynn. I never really thought about it but you're totally right. Turning the lights on does make a room brighter. You're so awesome"
Nintendo does silly things.
League of Legends: Lamby Cakes | XBox Live: Jon Butters
