Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Hey guys, remember X3 which had all these swell ships piloted by silly aliens that I wouldnt stop posting screenshots for and everyone was all 'Wow! I'mma get that!' followed by a beating when it turned out that the game was only playable by madmen and robots?
Sucks if you didnt buy it in the double pack during Steam's sale. Of course, it also sucked if it did because the authenthication servers were down for the entire holiday period, hahar. It's back up now though, so I'm having fun cruising around the solar system, shooting the crap out of things that even look at me funny and wishing I had more than two credits to rub together.
X2 was the shit. So many hours wasted just docking in stations because it made me feel like a spaceman.
X3 was pretty rad, but my computer could not run it flawlessly in large scale battles so I uninstalled it and mothballed it until I get a newer computer...
And now there's Terran Conflict out, so I'll just get that when I get a newer computer.
Am I wrong to think this game could be like Freespace 2? Because I don't play a lot of fighter or space simulators, but Freespace 1 and 2 are two of my favorite games of all time.
All things appear and disappear because of the concurrence of causes and conditions. Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else.
hey teefs remember Escape velocity? That game was the shiiiiit. Like finding the aliens on the fringes of the galaxy, or fighting against whatever evil was in whatever game you happened to be playing (regular, overdrive, or nova.) I love that a lot of the missions would just pop up in the taverns. It did storytelling so well.
X3 should be awesome and I want it to be awesome but I have no idea what to do. At least I have a bitchin joystick to play it with.l
The X3 pack contains X3 reunion and X3 terran conflict I think you're confused bemis though yea you may want to download only terran conflict if you're a big space baby like in 2001 what was that all about
it's something like shift N, but you can't have them exactly the same way they were, the old way but with an optional cursor. At least I can't find it.
If you'd like an anime thread, please PM me to discuss it. Include pics/video of your favorites.
is there anyway to look at your ship while you play
hitting f2 switches to a view directly behind your ship that is completely fucking useless because you can't steer while in that mode and it obscures most of the screen
it just feels weird having an essentially FPS style view in space

You can use the Numpad to move the view around your ship. Numpad 0 cycles between various cinematic views.

You steer as normal? Hit space and direct with the mouse, or use the keypad. I dont get why you'd fly in that mode though, it's mainly for ogling your many manly guns.
I've tried to get into this game at least 3 times but I just can't do it. I really really want to because I know that once I get hooked it will be so awesome.

is a joystick necessary?
STEAM ID
Time to submit another application for tech support.
And SO, I beat Mechwarrior 2, without a joystick. How much trouble is this game comparatively?

what then
I now seek revenge
- How like/unlike Eve is it?
Ever since I dropped out of Eve I've been needing some spaceship lovin', and Sins isn't really doing it for me.
