World War 3 will never happen you knuckleheads.

Well, at least not without a global exchange of thermonuclear warheads.

Both economically and politically, things are forming right up for some sort of big catastrophe. Things are going to happen whether we like it or not.

All I'm saying is, get your food/water/medicine sooner then later.

I wish it wouldn't. I wish I could see a clear path where lots of shit doesn't get fucked up, but I hate to break it to you- Nuclear arms are not required for things to go all to hell.

what we ought to do is have some sort of gathering the day before or after, since folks will be in town.

If people are going to be here, like, a week early Duclaws is having a beer release party on the 14th and 15

    Fuck you, inauguration day

The Obama kids get a pet puppy. Dave gets a PET scan.

I keep saying that Dubya should cut in and buy the Obama girls a puppy before their dad gets around to it.

That way at least SOME ONE will remember him as a better president than Obama.

I'm in the city and maybe i could have rented out part of my apartment for like $1000/night. Unfortunately I'll be using that apartment for hiding from the giant tsunami of people that will be pulsating through the streets and metro that day. I might be in a fetal position.

Just checked my latest California Tortilla email:
    BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING!

That's right--as most of you know (I think), we've got a new president being sworn in and Inauguration Day, Tuesday, January 20th, promises to be a very exciting day. (Unless you live in DC and don't like crowds--then boy are you going to be cranky.)

Anyway, because California Tortilla doesn't like to be upstaged by anyone, we've having our very own Inaugural celebration that day. Just stop by any Cal Tort on the 20th and when you do a little Inaugural dance for the spunky cashier, he or she will give you a FREE darn tasty taco. Plus, you'll get a commemorative key chain that has two fabulous discount offers on it. How great is that? And how happy I am that I'm finally going to get you to dance?

So, yeah. Folks who like Obama AND free tacos might be interested in knowing about that.

Are you familiar with Cal Tort?

Their MO is basically to have strange promotions and tasty food (specialty burritos)

    also, wall of hot sauces

being foreign ain't even a thing here.

it's a local chain (although I think there might also be one down in florida, or something) which started in Bethesda, MD.

So it is a DC thing. not being familiar with Cal Tort is the state of most people in the world.

california tortilla is alright, but the tortilla for their burritos is flimsy and falls apart too easily. but their chicken tortilla soup is excellent. if i get a hankering for burritos, i go to chipotle, always and forever and ever

email says new southwest roasted corn soup.

when I want soup, I go to Panera, though

I like to get the Nacho Chilli burrto bowl at Cal Tort, and also get chips, and eat it like nachos

Last time I was there, the ten of us racked up a $1500 bill. Of course, there was a millionaire paying for it, so he didn't mind that much.
