I enjoy waiting for a smoker to pull somebody back past a chokepoint, then hop out as a boomer and vomit on the guys coming to help. When everybody is split up and surrounded by zombies, then the hunters pounce. It's a lovely combo because you're pretty much guaranteed to get somebody down and most likely dead. Plus, it's the epitome of zombie induced chaos.

On another topic, does anyone have any idea what of the status of the 360 patch? Getting really tired of playing against people who absolutely suck and are better at cheating than actually playing. On the upside, the rampant cheating is encouraging me to continue to add PA players to my friends list to get decent games going.

To be honest I didn't either until you actually learn to play as a unit.

Campaign was all I used to play, strictly expert. I hated vs, I couldn't play a game without hating everything in life.

After beating all the campaigns like 30x, I decided I'd give vs a better chance and started playing more with the people I play campaign with and it's AMAZING now.

Seriously, nothing is more beautiful than 25 dmg pounce x 2 hunters, with a simultaneous smoker to finish it with a boomer.

    That poor god damn pub.

    Louis is huntered!

    Here comes the two rescuers!

The two rescuers have been simultaneously pounced!

    edit:

Also the time on BH finale when Iowa pounced Francis from the cliif for a good amount of damage and as soon as Francis stood up I did the same then, after being meleed off, slashed him for an incap.

    re: Ninja:

I love booming someone then when a non-boomed is pounced just standing between him and the survivors. If they shoto you the guy on the ground gets covered and the hunter has a chance to escape.

I actually didn't get that Burn the Witch achievement until just recently. The idea of wasting a molotov on a witch never occurred to me.

There's a spot in Dead Air 2, at the crescendo, where the Witch sometimes spawns on one of the adjacent buildings. You can light her up, she'll run at you, fall to ground level, and die before she manages to get back up. That's probably one of the easiest spots to get the achievement.

    Spoiler:

I'm really hoping we get it before the end of the month. I feel your pain, if I've got the desire to play VS I've been doing it on BH (which I fucking hate) or if I can get a full PA crew NM and just own those little cheaters.

On that note, parking the tank right inside the NM3 bash door is a joy to behold.

I still think my favourite team wipe was when we got four hunters and hid in the closet by the elevator on NM4. All of us simultaneously pounce out as they round the corner and that was the end of that.

If even one person was a little late on their pounce or had missed we all would have failed.

I know I should be able to cheese my way through Safety First with Bots on easy, and I'm 31000+ for killing zombies so I'll get Zombie Genocidest eventually.

I'm desperately hoping that's not the case. Two weeks between the release of a PC and a 360 patch would be acceptable. Anything approaching a month+ and Valve is officially staffed by morons. I bought their game on the assumption that they would actually provide timely patches this time around.

Hopefully, if they do end up taking that long to release the patch they'll keep blaming the Microsoft certification process. It's an excuse we all know and love, right?

I've vomited on all four survivors multiple times. Usually places like finales or crescendo events offer a pretty good chance to get everyone. Nothing Special is ridiculous, though, regardless of difficulty setting. Tried doing it on Death Toll with Predator and some other folks and it was stupid hard. The fact that AI tanks don't start making tank music until after they see you certainly doesn't help. Tanks were almost universally the only special infected to do us damage and it was always infuriating.

Stomach Upset is the one where you have to make it through the entire campaign without getting barfed on.

Barf Bagged is the one to barf on all 4 survivors.

    I cannot do the former.

And yeah, everytime Nothing Special gets fucked over by a random tank spawn. Argh.

Ah. Yeah, that one is just impossible. Watching every possible spot at all times to avoid that Boomer is just too hard to bother with. You'd probably have to find some sort of maximum visibility/minimum LoS route so it can't pop around a corner and ruin the campaign.

So far, my favorite achievement that I've been awarded was going an entire campaign without alerting the witch. I joined a NM versus game, played maybe 5 minutes, and got the achievement as we flew off into the zombie sunset. Of course, this makes me wonder something. Can all of the achievements be earned in versus mode? If so, the best way to get any of the avoidance achievements would be to get a full game of 8 people on versus and just avoid each other the entire game.

It would sure beat the hell out of constantly restarting the campaign because of random stupid incidents.

Its funny you say that, because that is pretty much exactly how I got my Do Not Disturb achievement...

Joined a random VS (NM5) played for like 5 minutes, game ended, got achievement. Does this work with other achievements? I don't know.

I do know there's a dashboard glitch that some schmucks are using to get the Expert Achievements, supposedly it works for some of the other "survival" ones as well.

In addition, I was in a random pub last night and one of the guys was telling us that he got the "Lamb to Slaughter" achievement from just using split screen. The moral of that story is that I dont think Valve really put a lot of play testing into the achievements.

I don't know, but that's never happened to me before... I even played an entire Versus campaign where there was never a single witch and still didn't get that achievement.

Stomach Upset isn't terribly difficult. Easy campaign + listen for Boomers + don't go too slow + at least one sniper rifle and two M4's. The only thing that can really screw you over is boomers around corners, but you can always back off if you hear them and wait for them to round the corner. Death Toll and Dead Air are pretty decent campaigns for this achievement, I've done it on Dead Air several times with little issue, though Death Toll is a little dicey because of some spots with trees.

It's not like this really matters anyway. I was doing an easy run to get a couple of other achievements and went the whole campaign with absolutely zero friendly fire incidents. The campaign stat screen rolls by and even shows me a zero for every person (well, me and the three bots). Stats screen ends, return to title... and no achievement. I would've been pretty irritated if I'd been shooting for that achievement specifically in that run.
