I still have an old-school, 1960s edition in my room, but I couldn't find a picture of that one
I remember Dungeon! being a really unforgiving boardgame. Like, you don't normally get killed in board games, you just hit a snake and have to go back a few squares or whatever. But this is basically Dungeons and Dragons Lite and if you don't roll high when that Giant Black Pudding attacks you that's it man, game fucking over.
I'm pretty skeptical of Munchkin quest, it seems to defeat the point of the series. Has anyone played it?
Hells yes, this is a great game, even if it's a little too Magicy for me.
I prefer Betrayal at House Hill to Arkham Horror, but maybe that's just because I was playing the latter with real dickbutts.

I need to get some friends together to play this after I get back from Florida. Cuz goddamn this is my favorite boardgame. The looks on your friends' faces when you ruin their shit after spending the entire game being their staunch ally are magical.
To reiterate, after playing this game, your friends will hate you.
See after the first time an ally turned on me I learned my lesson. I started looking for ways that I could use their help but be ready to defend myself if they decide to turn on me. Didn't play many games though. Turned out we preferred games on the N64 or hotseat games of Empire Deluxe or MoO2.
In other news I'm the high bidder on Hero's Quest still with only 20 hours left. It is so mine.
