I'm going to try to buy a copy of that tonight on ebay, I think.

If I find out any of you dicks are bidding against me, I swear to god I will rape your families.

    $15.50 with 1hr50mins left?

I will not bid, good sir. It would just sit on my shelf. You most likely would actually get some use out of it.

    god damned right I will

also, you dudes have no idea what a good board game collection looks like

my buddy Jeff, he's got a bunk bed. Lower bunk removed, he sleeps in the top. From floor to ceiling to the wall deep in board games. Shit you never heard of.

I always wanted to try the Civilization board game that came out a few years back

enormous game board and took 6-8 hours to play, or something ridiculous like that

I also have Descent: Journeys In The Dark but haven't yet played it!

    was it Alpha Centauri?

that game is retarded complex, I got it at a garage sale once and I can't figure it out to save my life.

I think that was what it was called.

We played Conquest of the Empire in my Latin IV class. Good times with betrayal, heartache, and utter hatred taking the place of calm heads.

    also

this exact situation came up when i was playing risk with friends last week

Speaking of which, don't you fucking dare bid against me on that copy of Hero Quest.

I'm perfectly happy with the price remaining at $9.99.

So my friends and I play risk, right

one day, someone starts using text messages for alliances

I tell you what, it was like WWI or some shit

  • BugmanBugman Registered User regular
I just got the Cities & Knights expansion for Catan

    it adds sooo much

one game took like 3 hours

  • Ol' SparkyOl' Sparky Registered User
Okay, so maybe it wasn't world war 1 because the alliances then weren't secret. But suddenly one guy would find himself inadvertently facing everyone or the game would take on opposing sides. Eventually it came to the point where if you became the diplomatic benefactor, making deals with both sides, taking one province here, one there, while everyone else kills each other, you win.

Needless to say we haven't played in awhile.

i feel like i have this game but it looks different from the images on boardgamegeek

let me go check the name

no, it was "The Classic Dungeon", a "revised version of the TSR classic board game Dungeon. This version has a larger playing board and updated rules. Most notably, new character classes were added and the combat system was revised to be a bit more forgiving to the player."

a pretty silly but fun game

I remember Dungeon! being a really unforgiving boardgame. Like, you don't normally get killed in board games, you just hit a snake and have to go back a few squares or whatever. But this is basically Dungeons and Dragons Lite and if you don't roll high when that Giant Black Pudding attacks you that's it man, game fucking over.

I got Ticket to Ride and Quiddler for Christmas, more of you homps should get the former so we can play online. I'm so glad we have a board game club on campus.

I'm pretty skeptical of Munchkin quest, it seems to defeat the point of the series. Has anyone played it?

  • Cosmic SombreroCosmic Sombrero Registered User
I'm gonna go in the exact opposite direction and talk about a fairly new game that I was recently introduced to:

    Dominion.

It's this sort of economy/military game thing with cards

    it's pretty rad

Hells yes, this is a great game, even if it's a little too Magicy for me.

I prefer Betrayal at House Hill to Arkham Horror, but maybe that's just because I was playing the latter with real dickbutts.

From what it says on the board, and from looking it up on Board Game Geek, it looks like Acquire.

I need to get some friends together to play this after I get back from Florida. Cuz goddamn this is my favorite boardgame. The looks on your friends' faces when you ruin their shit after spending the entire game being their staunch ally are magical.

To reiterate, after playing this game, your friends will hate you.

See after the first time an ally turned on me I learned my lesson. I started looking for ways that I could use their help but be ready to defend myself if they decide to turn on me. Didn't play many games though. Turned out we preferred games on the N64 or hotseat games of Empire Deluxe or MoO2.

turns out it's something called Senet

Scrabble is the fucking bomb, but I don't know anyone in Portland so I haven't got my fill.

Not exactly a board game, but has anyone played Munchkin? It is a mock rpg-card game, its pretty fun.
