Only a few of them have actually been campy 80's art. Your 97% is little off. And by a little I mean a lot.

    i never said 97% were.
I would like to see what do you think are good covers.
I don't think there are any.

    You sir make no sense.

Lemmings was pro-Communist propeganda. All are created equal, sorted into specific jobs and roles that they will hold for the rest of their lives by a higher authority, and must sacrifice continuously for the good of the group. Success is measured by meeting quotas and nothing else. Also, nuclear holocaust.

I just think they're all lame.

Air Traffic Controller is humourous though.

This one is just hilarious. Half the reason I bought the game.

Serious dudes wear Samurai helmets in martial arts fights.

He's a pussy for not going all out with the gear. The unwritten rule of fighting games is though if you wear a mask, you're serious shit.

Are we officially in the 'so bad it's good' category now?

Don't know if anyone has posted this already but the MGS stuff is usually done by a guy called Ashley Wood. He has done a lot of good stuff in his time. My avatar is by him and is the EP artwork for a great band called Reuben.

Check out link/ for more artwork, note there are a couple of pictures that are NSFW

Um, most of the MGS stuff is done by Yoji Shinkawa.

    Lime for truth.

That looks like the Digital Graphic Novel more then the regular cover arts. Wood was tapped because he did some damn close work to Shinkawa's.

Yep. Greatest Hits cover is a photo of the Original box. It's not even centered!

Does anyone now of a site where they have classic video game posters and stuff for sale? I'm renovating and my new office is gonna need some awesomeness. I already have some cool classic B movie posters for my media room ordered, and to continue the classic B list game theme would be cool.

Yeah, that's right, Ashley Wood did that graphic novel, which was cool. Didn't really look like Shinkawa's stuff to me though.

Shinkawa is so awesome: MGS, ZOE, and Policenauts

Oh, and that Phantasy Star 2 cover art is awesome

The only thing I can think is to find a high quality image on the web or something and then get it printed out at a good print shop. Most poster places I can think of tend to either be all about the celebrities or very specific (e.g. russian propaganda). Saying that, you could maybe find somewhere, but I wouldn't have any guarantees about the reliability of the company and the quality of the print.

It doesn't really help, but I remember Konami once had ads where you could get a bunch of posters of their box art for cheap. I shrugged it off then, but regret it horribly now.

In fact, here's the ad. Dammit all.

While I agree that Dave is being a troll, he's not entirely wrong. There have been some shitty covers posted. Quite a few people are just posting the cover to games they like, without regard for artistic quality.

I became a Yoji Shinkawa fan the moment I saw the Orbital Frame designs.

He put the cockpit in the groin.

    Genius.
