    I play tyranid. I can't build emplacements.

    1v1s revolve around running around the map capping the points, there's no territory system, so capping something on the opposite side of the map is just as good as capping the same type of point if it were right next to your base.

    Tyranids mid-end game revolves around having units with upgrades that upgrade the other small units around them, so you need to keep your forces close together to contend with the other races units. Meanwhile they have free range over sending single units out to each point capping them back from you, because if you were to send a small fast unit to engage them it would be killed mercilessly. Other races can usually get around this because they have various units capable of guarding points, some can even build forward turrets! Even so the game in 1v1 still revolves around running around the map capping, and recapping point after point after point. You do not ever want to actually engage in a battle, because losing a whole squad of units gives you one less squad to run around the map, so skirmishes usually last 20 seconds before one side retreats.

    It's awful. Tyranid vs Tyranid is also it's own brand of extra retarded.

    edit: But 3v3 is awesome.

    It's the same for the other races, the nuances of the tyranid play style just compound the obtuse rules of the game's setup in 1v1.

    this game is fun, its pretty much company of heroes meets the awesome that is 40k

    my only issue is that ive been getting paired up with fucking retarded teammates who either have full graphics settings on their shitty computer or spend the entire map saying WHAT DO YOU MEAN I NEED MORE ENERGY WTF DOES IT MEAN IM GETTING SUPPRESSEED FUCK FUCK FUCK really loud in their microphone
