We're pimps and killers, but in a philanthropic way. [Dollhouse, Whedon spoilers]

Where they keep the transportation proves nothing.
GT: batshido Hit me up on ME3.
The elevator went up to the floor though. And Echo/Caroline left a message at the end. "We're underground."
Meh I actually really like this show's intro and song. I hated firefly's song. OK upon reflection firefly's song is really good. I'm was on crack earlier.
I'm liking crazy conspiracy theorist Ballard.
aaand.. Mellie reveal. Holy crap. Character Development++
get out of here DeWitt? as a client? WHAAAT?
I pronounce it bee-log.
I'm not sure whats more fucked up... the Attic or the way Whedon was able to twist the already fucked up Mellie/Ballard situation into the most fucked up configuration. The irony word play was awesome as well.
My new Mole theory
But who Dolls the Dollhouse?

Straight out of the Star Trek playbook.
You guys didn't like the Firefly theme song? Really? Huh.
The beginning of Dollhouse is ok I guess. I always sing along right at the start. "Dah dah dah dah dah..."
What stood out more for me is the show seems to have really long intro sequences before the theme starts.
Boy do I <3 it.
Obviously the Watchmen.
But this was just great.
***Ooh, first post of a new page?
Ahem: The employees are not dolls. The Dollhouse is underground, but Dewitt's office is far above street level. I like pie.
Yeah I was kind of saying "Holy shit. . ." over and over again in my head during that scene. Especially when
There's this odd musical cue, and the camera cuts to Echo eying Dr. Saunders for saying that line.
What's that about??
1.5 from last week's 1.4 and 2.6 million from last weeks 3.49.
More people watching this awesome episode means more people are hopefully likely to watch next week, too.
Maybe she's thinking a bit like Dominic was in the van, if you know what I mean.
But how did she know how to dress? That seemed like a hole.
They could have had that lady's apartment bugged like Ballard's /shrug
It's not big or important. Just a "thing." I guess.
Yeah, it seems odd that the clothes would match exactly... Why bother going through all that trouble? Doesn't it just have to look passable?
It helps the audience understand clearly that she is supposed to impersonate this girl.
I think knocking her unconscious and stealing her I.D. would have given us that idea.
Yea but its a tv show and as well as knocking her onconscious and stealing her I.D. is, wearing the exact same clothes as her really sends the message home so theres no misunderstanding. TV shows do it to make the plot as clear as possible, its like arguing about some character walking through a hallway which seems fairly lighted (to the audience point of view) but the character acts like its pitch black.
This series has so much potential...and it only manifests itself in tiny sentences like this.
I don't see what wrong with that. It also has a great premise and the right kind of intrigue and characters...
So...
It would have been nice to have received more than one sentence per episode is, I guess, what I was saying.
There was more than one good sentence in that episode.
Less is good?
"We're pimps and killers...but in a philanthroipc way"
ok. two good sentences.
checking around, looks like the 2 was a typo, it should be a 3
Oh, wait...
Yeah. 3.6
The whole Ballard segment and development was fantastic. The 'irony' line during the Lonely Hearts engagement.
In fact, Topher on the whole was absolutely great in this episode.
Topher will be what I miss most about this series.
I still remember when after the first episode aired, one of the very first posts was "They can't even cast a good science guy! How can you not cast a good science guy???"
And I don't think Alpha had default ninja skills, he'd just been used for a lot of agressive, physically lethal imprints and possibly in things like surgical skills to since he disected people to death.
Except if they tune in next week, they'll find Prisonbreak instead.
But man, totally fucking awesome episode. It's funny, cause they're ramping things up so quickly that it makes you wonder what Whedon's overall arch is for this show.
At first most of us probably assumed that Echo freeing herself or gaining free will would take a bit longer, I definately didn't see the revelation of the mole, or the whole thing with millie happening so soon. For me the best parts of the ep were everything with DeWitt and Roger, because it truly was a holy fuck moment.
I think someone might have noticed if their coworker inexplicably changed clothes in the middle of the day.
Maddie: "I am not!"
Riley: "You're a marsupial!"
Maddie: "I am a placental mammal!"
occasionallywearsahat.com, my rambly ramblings of ramble
Which is one reason a post that I saw right after the show ended annoyed me
They explicitly said he had default ninja skills.

I think it was done more because it would look cool, and amuse the audience. I didn't give it a second thought at the time, but yeah it makes no sense at all. At the time I was more, "ZOMG that would freak me out!"
