Stupid Computer Problem

So, I'm on the downstairs computer because it seems that my upstairs one is acting a bit funny:


When I try to type something with the keyboard, it doesn't let me. It acts as if I am trying to input a CTRL+ shortcut.

I.E. - I hit f and it brings up the Find shortcut that would normally be CTRL+F.


Help me fix this, I'm sure it's just something stupid.

Shut down the computer, unplug the keyboard, plug the keyboard back in, turn the computer back on.

I don't have a spare one, unless I unhook this one.

I was hoping I was being an idiot and somehow hit a seemingly random set of keys that made this happen.

Hit shift 5 times real fast - see if you accidently turned on sticky keys.

Jam down all your modifier keys (ctrl, alt, shift) a bunch of times, hard.

edit: not at the same time or anything just to dislodge any stickiness.

I'd just go out and buy a new keyboard.

But I do remember once seeing a keyboard you could run through the dishwasher when it got all full of crap. And it would still work afterwards.

Yeah, none of this has worked.

I have now popped the letters on my keyboard off and rearranged a few to spell out "fuck it."

Guess I'll buy a new one tomorrow.

This has happened to me on a few occasions, I've found that by open palm slamming the main keys of my keyboard it seems to unstick it.
