Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Well, I've had my computer for about a year, and it's been pretty damn reliable, up until I shut it down last night. Now I can't turn it back on. The lights come on, all the fans start spinning, and it seems to be working fine, but it's giving me a repeating POST beep code of two 1-second beeps and a 3 second beep, in that order. But according to google, the POST beep code "2 short 1 long" doesn't exist, only 1 long 2 short. Any help?
Those beeps sound like what I got when my RAM died. See if you can borrow some from a friend or something. When it happened to me I had 2 sticks die at the same time, so it could be possible that the same happened to you.

Man, I thought this might be it, but I tested every stick of ram individually (I have 4) in slot 1 and the same problem is still going on. And I can't imagine why all of my sticks would suddenly decide to die when they've been working fine for so long.
The motherboard might also be dead. The first sign I check for for a dead motherboard are swollen capacitors. If any of them are swollen at all that's pretty much a dead giveaway that your motherboard is dead/dying.

water spirals the wrong way out the sink
I already tried clearing out all the dust I could see, and no, nothing on the screen.
