hotmail/xboxlive.com loading issues (cookies?)

Everytime I try to go to hotmail.com or xboxlive.com, I'm hit with an error message saying:
Windows Live ID is unavailable from this site for one of the following reasons:
* This site may be experiencing a problem.
* The site may not be a member of Windows Live ID.
You can:
* You can sign in or sign up at other Windows Live ID sites and services, or try again later at this site.
The only way I've been able to fix this is to clear my cookies, but it is damn annoying doing this every time I want to check either site. I'm using Firefox 3.06.
This problem doesn't pop up in google chrome, but the actual hotmail site doesn't play nice with chrome, so it's kind of a moot point.
