Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

    "NO BUY THEM AGAIN"

    that's why you backup.

If you said "hey I bought this CD and lost it can I have another" they would laugh at you.

its not like that at all though
it's a digital file that they have a record of me having purchased. they even tell you when you click on a file you've downloaded
"YOUVE BOUGHT THIS BEFORE ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT THIS"

if they're not going to let you redownload things you've paid for already they shouldnt even bother keeping track of what you've purchased
Wait, what? I thought you can redownload them for free?

    That is seriously fucked up.

of course not apple loves money

    Apparently you can go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/lostmusic/

Click on the "Contact Us" button, ask very nicely, and they re-enable all of your downloads.

iTunes is good at organizing my music collection. And I don't mind buying music from the store, it's pretty cheap and I've never had a problem with their DRM.

Plus the software runs great on my Mac.

So I guess I'm part of the problem then or something?

This is the RIAA, it is NOT Apple. Apple has resisted them a lot and are the ones who finally said "Fuck you, we're going DRM free, deal with it"

This topic is going on because people, Meiss & Kusu for example, yell and bitch without knowing what actually has gone on in.

And I worked for two companies on multimedia players over four years, one of which was VERY CLOSELY related to the iTunes/Apple situation on the iPod. So if you think I'm ill-informed, you're an idiot. 8-)

$14k headphones is a drop in the bucket if you have a $300k record player.

Or you could just buy the record in a shop.

I bought Beck's "Modern Guilt" on vinyl recently (it is totally killer and you should get it too) and it came with a slip of paper that had instructions for going online to download a digital copy for free. I downloaded and burned it to a cd so I can listen in the car.

Perhaps that's just this label, though.

I've never had a problem with the zune player, it's retardedly easy to use, and you can upload everything on your zune to...any computer, if you want.

when I have to navigate friend's itunes it's like chopping off six of my fingers and then telling me to play chopsticks.

it's doable, but fuck you, you cut off my fingers.
