Band of Brothers II: Pacific Thunderer

Yes. It was very excellent Blaket.
Man they need to slip him using that line in there
I'm sure there'd be a billion oppurtunities
That was really good.
I think it's going to take a little bit for me to get settled into the characters and all that, but I'm certainly enjoying what I've seen.
The HD is almost jarring. It comes off as so damn clear and crisp it seems slightly unnatural.
I knew Winters and Nixon, though. This seemed to jump around a whole lot between different groups of guys.
Though, I think the first episode should have been double length. It would have really helped the hook. Either way, I know what I'm doing on Sunday nights for the next 10 weeks.
I read Eugene Sledge's book. The characters in it easily matched my adoration of Easy Company. I'd highly recommend his book (With the Old Breed) for anyone who is a fan of BoB or The Pacific.
I've already watched it maybe, 4 or 5 times since it aired.
About to watch it again.

The end had some fantastically dark humour.
Satans..... hints..... I'm a mo bro!
Was really great. I think because I know what happens there, it makes more sense to me. I will have to make sure I don't pause to explain the battles.
So happy with William Sadler as Chesty Puller.
First episode is starting right now on HBO2.
Pretty good similarity in appearance.
Watchin' it the 2nd time for tonight.
I dunno I'm not sure how you'd even approach the lunacy of okinawa and have that swelling up in the background.
It doesn't seem right.
yakity sax when the marine division accidentally opens up on the fleeing civilians the first night
"Yank wank" brilliantly sums up a feeling I was having trouble expressing.
Damn, that kid is playing Sledge? I didn't recognize him at all.

Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
So excited that I've been falling asleep with Band of Brothers on and waking up at 3:00 a.m. to the DVD title screen music on an endless loop. Which, I mean... is pretty excited, because that ends up very annoying.
I didn't even notice the music particularly, and normally I'm tuned in to that sort of irritation, so it's either an overabundance of enthusiasm getting in my way or my ears are broken.
"Sandra's favourite movie is escape from new York because she cries when magpie and brain die because they will never be together." HAIL SATAN
I'm rather ashamed that the only reply that I can manage to form to this is "you mad".
Thanks a lot, teefs.
I mean, they should just roll out the a-bomb and get this shit over with.
Is it on? what network?
But sometimes I want to watch a war movie.
Everyone should watch The Thin Red Line so that they can realize just how much better The Pacific is than other movies/shows about the pacific theater.
The first time I watched it I was going of only a couple hours of sleep and fell asleep during the 14 minutes of basically nothing happening while they walked around the island. I know it was 14 minutes because I rewatched it and timed that part to self-rationalize why I'd fall asleep during something I've been looking forward to so much.

I felt the same way. I thought the racially derogatory stuff was a little over the top, too. I wasn't offended or anything, it just felt like they were trying to force the "they're the bad guys and we're supposed to hate them" angle. But I was kinda hoping that it was just because I went in being afraid of that exact thing happening.
