Hulu.com's one year anniversary

edited March 2009 in Social Entropy++
Hulu.com went live a year ago this week. A joint venture of NBC Universal and Newscorp, the site streams free video content produced by the two media conglomerates' television networks and movie studios. Most new episodes appear on Hulu either one day or one week after the original television airing. Most new episodes are available for about a month after the initial airdate.

Featured television networks include:

Fox (House, Dollhouse, Bones)
FX (Nip/Tuck, Damages, Rescue Me)
NBC (30 Rock, The Office, Chuck)
Sci Fi (Battlestar Galactica)
USA (Burn Notice, Monk, Psych)
Comedy Central (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report)

along with a back catalog of episodes of classic shows such as The A-Team, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and NewsRadio.

The movie section features a somewhat limited offering of films from studios like Lionsgate, MGM, Twentieth Century Fox, and Universal.

For the weaboos, Hulu recently partnered up with anime licensors Funimation and Viz Media to stream some subbed and/or dubbed anime such as Naruto Shippuden, Bleach, and Shikabane Hime.

To celebrate the one year anniversary, Hulu is having a week of events at http://www.hulu.com/spotlight/fanappreciation:
Hulu wrote:
It's been one year since Hulu opened its doors to the public. And as our way of saying thanks for an incredible year, we're giving back to our users with a variety of new content, from more seasons of fan favorites to new shows, movies and animation. Check the calendar below for the latest additions, coming to you every weekday through March 20.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulu

So this is the thread to celebrate your love of Hulu. Personally, about half of my network television viewing is through Hulu now. I only wish ABC and CBS would join up. Hulu is superior to their streaming offerings.

You know that commercial with the Baldwin was just a blatant desensitization effort by the New World Order headed by Jew Lizards and the World bank.

Well, this dude's account has been around since '04, and he's got infractions and whatnot, so I think he's a legit forumer, it's just that he's never posted here before (that I'm aware of) and threw up a bunch of links.

We've just had a big influx of spammers all of a sudden, but I dunno i this dude is one of'em.

i wish the cw had episodes on hulu, instead of their crappy streaming site. like i wouldn't watch gossip girl or smallville on my tv, but i'd check it out online if something interesting happens.

also, abc family has their own streaming site too. you know, for kyle xy and old episodes of gilmore girls

I wish ABC and CBS would join Hulu. I think I'd cancel my cable and just watch streaming tv. I doubt Disney and Viacom would ever do that. It's kind of a miracle that NBC and Newscorp (Fox) were able to form Hulu in the first place.

Because he wants to be a more serious actor and it's his real name, so he wants to use it.

Seriously. I can't believe it's such a hassle to get US/Canadian groups to sort out their shit so we can get stuff like that up here. I'm assuming it's the fucking CRTC like it usually is fucking up everything good.

We're encouraged by how many content providers have already been working along these lines so that their programs can be available over the Internet to a much larger, global audience. The Hulu team is committed to making great programming available across the globe.
