    I thought ShadowMk2 was playing RE4. SimBen played RE0.

Well, yeah. But Ben is ShadowMk2's name, as we learned in the chat. So I called him Ben, although now I realize that is probably confusing considering it's SimBen there.

    But yeah.

Did they not finish UC because of time constraints/dying?

I can't believe it went over 1000 either. At RE4 it was around 700+. Either way I hope you guys do better publicity for the next one. It was very addicting for me to watch and comment.

You guys should leave something on the RE marathon blog about the 1k thing.

Over $1000 donated in total huh? Congratulations.

I enjoyed the portions that I watched, even if the video was slightly unclear. Great thread.

    Congrats, guys!

    Was amazing to watch.

Also I didn't realize we had other PA folks from San Antonio (Where I live).

Hellz yeah Saiga, I'll PM you sometime.

I think what really made me like this damn thing so much was being able to connect with what they're doing. Minus the awesome Child's Play cause.

I remember back when I would trekk through a game to completion with friends. Staying up at late hours just wrapped up in beating a game. I'm glad I didn't miss the RECV attempt(lawls), because that was the game my friend and I played through until we reached a point with no ammo(Veronica battle in the Mansion), very much like what Shadow went through except he just couldn't take it anymore. Walkthroughs FTW

So yeah lots of nostalgia, and seriously get some press on this next time. Not even that but more Forum threads bookmarked so you can bump it. Right before you pass out from playing RE.

I hope the excitement for the idea lives on, the next time should even be more rewarding.

    Heya all!

I'm not much of a forum guy, but considering the event I kinda had to say something!

And it goes like this: Thanks to you all from PA who came over. It was an amazing week-end that exceeded all my expectations. I'll go with what Sim said: WHOA! the rest I agree with him

To my defense, as for Code Veronica, it clearly is the most painfully uninteresting RE out there. I know most old school RE puzzles made little sense, but this time they pushed it to the extreme if you ask me! Anyway I cleared Claire, Chris' part got the best of me due to awesomeness stupidity :D

However, there was another bet then the 1000$ mark Travis dance, the 60$ challenges all week-end long for single donations equal or higher then 60$. The last one included me doing a complete let's play of RE: CV start to finish, and guess what somebody donated a whooping 81$. I am bound by honor to do this, wich will be done during the next months. Need to find a good way to record my wii's output on a computer I guess!

Once more, Thank you all from PA!

You mentioned the Wii so do you mean Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles then?

And after watching Code Veronica get played a bit I'm fully in agreement with what you just said about it. You're shooting zombies on a submarine now? I must have missed something.

He's playing Code Veronica all the way through again. You can play Gamecube games on the Wii, right?

Yes, given that you have a gamecube memory card and controller.

Forgot that you couldn't internally save gamecube games on the WII ala PS3 80gb with PS2 games, thus when I got the original RE games this past weekend I spent about an hour looking for my old GC memory card. :P

Oh! I didn't even know that they re-released Code Veronica on the GameCube. Nevermind then.

Yeah, they re-released Code Veronica on the PS2 and GC as Code Veronica X.

I...completely forget/don't know what they added except that they changed this one cutscene near the end that Shadow didn't quite get to during the marathon.

The submarine is just a glorified elevator to the sea-level portion of Rockfort's base, made probably just for Alfred's use. The elevator Claire has to use to get back to the plane after she raises the bridge is probably meant for the 'commoners'.

  • RehabRehab Registered User regular
    I see, thanks Schide.

Also, I really didn't see much leading up to the submarine or afterward for that matter either. I just thought it seemed really out of place for a setting in a Resident Evil game.

The full playthrough of CVX should be quite amazing. I fully expect Shadow to be completely insane by the end of it.

Perhaps it won't be quite that bad in that he'll have more sleep going into it whenever he does though. I'm sure fatigue was a factor in the frustration of it during the marathon, but even so, just reading the LP that Owenashi posted to the end... my god, how did Capcom think most of that game was a good idea?

Oh, I'll look forward to that one.

I feel bad because I did not donate, but I was unable to watch due to god-awful internet connection speeds. I would have loved to have watched this though. Congrats on the donations!

It's not that bad. At any rate, it's a RE game, so it's not gonna be Shakespeare exactly. :)

On another note, Gametrailers just finished a 6-part Retrospective on RE, covering pretty much everything with room to spare to present a mostly complete timeline of events leading up to RE5. You can check out the first part here.

That was really well done. First I've seen of the PC version of RE.
