There's something about italicizing that font at that size that makes the entire display look off. I can't quite put my finger on it but it seems rather upfront or rigid or something.
OS X ships with a really good bunch of standard fonts.
it's a big reason why the general look of OSX is so much better then windows.
Random history lesson: Arial was created because Microsoft didn't want to pay to license Helvetica, so they had Arial created that just happens to have nearly identical baselines and glyph widths, so designers stuck on Windows could just use Arial when designing and then swap it for Helvetica when sending it to printing.

I bore my friends with that story too :P
Have you ever seen the Helvetica documentary? Pretty interesting stuff.

You have to admit, the idea that someone would care enough about fonts to follow and comment on "font fashion" is pretty silly unless they did graphic design for a living.
You'd be surprised about the design literacy of people living in downtown Manhattan: especially the grimy hipsters and trust-funders who would go to my party.
I wouldn't be surprised at all. The only time I've been to NYC I spent a week crashing with an artist friend. I just think it's silly. :P
Zimmydoom, Zimmydoom
Flew away in a balloon
Had sex with polar bears
While sitting in a reclining chair
Now there are Zim-Bear hybrids
Running around and clawing eyelids
Watch out, a Zim-Bear is about to have sex with yooooooou!

Is it really that silly? For instance, I want to convey everything that my party will be about in the word "yacht" and it's design. If I saw it designed in a very hip-hop or heavy metal way, for instance, I wouldn't want to go to the party.
1. Pick up everything from floors.
2. Go through stuff.
3. If it's something to keep, put it in its proper place.
4. If it's not, throw it in a pile on the floor.
5. When done sorting, throw away everything that's on the floor. Except the cat.
Everything anyone does will appear silly to someone, though.
I don't think that an interest in fonts is inherently silly. I think hipsters who are "font literate" for hipster's sake are silly. My mother spent most of her career doing graphic design for a living; the hospital she worked for 15 years ago still uses the logo and color scheme she designed. But I can guarantee you that she'd roll her eyes and laugh if I told her that hipsters in NYC actually follow font trends just to be trendy.

Well the essence of being a hipster is being ridiculous! Doesn't mean I should milk them for all they're worth!

And the hipsters would roll their eyes and laugh at those that didn't keep up with what was currently "hot" on the font scene. My point is that whether or not something seems silly is a poor way to judge it's worth as an activity.
Judging between the amount of poop a cat generates in a day, and the amount of poop a human generates, i would say any number of humans in the home could be the number one source of poop.

Of course, I am not a graphic designer so I don't bother aggrandize my opinion to that of any important level.
