I never liked the Total War games.

Also, I'm horrendously disappointed in Red Alert 3. Like, seriously, what the fuck were you thinking, EA? Did you even bother to playtest the single player campaign?

usually i am a little put off by thanatos's raging cop hate, despite having been well-indoctrinated by the Marxism course I took last year

but people who own hummers are assholes and universally deserve to have trees fall on their cars

i don't want them to be in the car, but fuck hummers.

even if you got it as a gift, you sell that shit right away, or better yet, make a publicity stunt by detonating five hundred pounds of dynamite in the cab
Man I just really don't think it's that big of a deal. Especially to wish thousands of dollars of financial injury on a person, and according to some people physical injury also. It's a selfish choice of vehicle, that's it.
If they couldn't afford the thousands of dollars of financial injury, they probably shouldn't be driving a Humvee. Fucking thousands of dollars in gas alone.
Uh "I don't mind wishing that people lose thousands of dollars because it probably won't bankrupt them anyway"? You're being more than a little ridiculous, unless this is a big joke to which I'm not attuned.
Like I said, there's no reason to own a Humvee other than being a raging douchebag. If I said "boy, I hope that rapist gets sent to prison," does anyone stand up and go "Oh my god! That's outrageous! How dare you wish that on someone?!" No. Anyone who owns a Humvee deserves to have a tree fall on it. If they got it for free, then good for them, they just lost a total shit car and got a bunch of cash they can use to buy a new one. If they actually bought it by choice, then good, they just lost a bunch of money they deserved to lose for being such a raging douchebag. It serves them right. Maybe their next car won't be such an expensive, gas-guzzling pile of crap.

    Wow. Rapists and Humvee drivers.

No, but there are enough similarities that it's difficult not to take a lot of what's going on in that thread personally.

Yes, because Japan's work as a claims agent clearly had everything to do with his firm's financial problems.

Either my mom misunderstood me of when I had to go catch the train for class tonight or she is cutting it really close. If she doesnt come in 10 minutes or so I wont be able to make it.

I am kinda tired to go to class anyways so I hope its the former.

When we were finished he'd take us kids to the carwash and we'd all sit in the car and get hosed off with the inside of the car. Then we'd get ice cream.

For what it's worth the division of the company that I work for is doing very well. Insanely so, even. This is our division's sixth "Most Profitable Year Ever" in succession.

There were headhunters literally hanging around outside the doors of our offices trying to scalp disgruntled staff when the whole bonus/raise question was still up in the air.

The computer co-commander keeps trying to beat the level for me. I want to play the game, not watch it being played. And it's obnoxious constantly having to tell it to move troops into the hinterlands of the map every couple of minutes, not even being able to waypoint them. And they ignore me most of the time, anyhow.

The company should put the money aside in case things get worse before they get better. Then when the situation improves, give out bonuses retroactively.

the problem with total war is

    1) they never bother to include a multiplayer campaign because it's "too time consuming to play," even though it is what everyone wants

this one will patch it in, but thanks guys, do it for the game that is set in the 1700s, ie, the shit-ditch of history

    2) the battle AI is abysmal, so the fun part of the game is instead the equivalent of punching a retard with a fist full of cavalry.

Ah, I had a feeling it was going to be something like that. I only played the game co-op because I fully expected the co-commanders to be terrible.

No, it's not certainly well deserved.

Let's revisit this. You draw an analogy between people who drive Hummers and rapists, and when I point out how absurd and loaded that is, you roll your eyes like I'm being dramatic. That's ridiculous. Then you go on to say that it's 'certainly well deserved' for a guy to have his car- his mode of transportation, and in many cases the lifeline he needs to keep his money rolling in for him and his family- fucked up because 'well, he's a really asshole kind of person'. No, I don't accept that premise that it's 'well-deserved'. I think it's a fucked up, sadistic fantasy. You're convinced that your neurotic hatreds are 'grounded in reason' when really they're completely out of proportion and fueled by your particular peeves. Your seething is no more grounded in reason than is the hatred of a guy who insists he's not a blind racist, he's just 'following the numbers, man'. Accurate stereotypes or not, you're just being a hateful, hateful dude.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Why should a company that's doing well and what's to reward good employees suddenly not reward those employees?

Essentially, a company could use that excuse any time, that they're worried about things getting worse so they don't want to pay their people any more. It's dumb.
