Also I don't have a functional mic, since the headset I ordered for 12 bucks is a piece of crap and doesn't fit my evidently tiny head.

The crashes happen when people are blown into gibs in water. Here's a temporary fix: r_waterdrawrefraction 0

IIRC it happened to me once while playing badlands, which has no water. And is that thread (can't check it at work) talking about crashing the entire server, booting everyone from the server, or just crashing individuals?

One of the members of my tf2 community seems to have discovered the reason behind the crash, and the fix...

The crash is a map issue rather than a multi core issue...

It seems that when a player is gibbed in the water, when the gibs hit the water it causes the crash because the reflections with gibs get messed up or something.

To prevent crashing, enter this command in console..

r_waterdrawrefraction 0

Well, you convinced me....

I play under the name HaV0C(the 0 is a zero). I used to play on the PA servers a lot and only recently(within the last month or so) started playing there again. Left 4 Dead pretty much killed my TF2 interest for a while.

St. Patrick's Day was one of the best TF2 experiences I have had in some time, I had a really good time with all the custom maps and all the general tomfoolery. You might not hear me much while playing because I tend to forget to hit my stupid "push to talk button", but I'll try to make an effort to speak up more.

Steam screwed up during Well and I was forced into using the base items. Funny how being forced to use something against your will can lead to good times.

Bonesawed Edcrab as a Heavy to death not once but twice ( sorry Ed ) and took out an invisible iowa with one swing.
