Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

Fate of Atlantis is going to be a bonus unlockable on the new Indiana Jones game for Wii. I think I'm more excited about that than the new game.

You'd think Lucas Arts would jump at the chance to make point-and-click adventures using the Wii-mote.

Or at least just port all their old games over. I'd actually buy most of these again for the Wii if they were going for like $15 each.

Who isn't? I'll be stunned if anyone buys that game not wanting Fate of Atlantis.

Also, one of the most deranged first person adventures ever:

I have the Sega Saturn version, but I guess that one's good too.
    (The Dreamcast sequel doesn't exist.)

You can actually die in it, which isn't very common.

I think that's also true in Full Throttle?

Well, as first-person Mysty/point'n'click games go.

Were Sierra involved in Flashback and Out of this World? If so, yes.

The King's Quests games were absolutely brutal.

instead of a babysitter I had Police Quest, King's Quest, and Space Quest.

I was playing Dreamfall with no knowledge of TLJ, then someone at HG101 gave me his copy to rectify that, on the grounds that I give it to someone else when I'm done with it.

    That could take a while.

Myst was awesome if you had 40 straight hours to spend on some terminally boring puzzles built in hypercard.

I never finished Myst. I heard about Riven coming out and I meant to finish it so I could play Riven. Cool idea. Then I heard Riven was a billion times more complicated and longer.

I remember playing Myst 4, and I'm sitting back, letting the introduction go on, because it's a good six or seven minutes of Atrus talking about his books and you staring at his wife's chest. So I'm kicking back with a sandwich and a cup of coffee, and then he comes back in the room and says that he wants me to go set his sons free from the books from the first game.

I actually spit coffee across the room and shouted, "YOU FUCKING WHAT?"

I was so exasperated, I walked out of the room for ten or fifteen minutes. Before continuing, I made sure to give Atrus the fucking finger. I hate that fucking guy.

    Dick.

I really liked the one world that was a bunch of floating crystals cut by a cloud line, below which was a planet of magma. It was one of Atrus' son's prisons; as you progress through it, you get to read his journals where he hopes to escape by making his way down the apparent mountain peak to the ground below, only to make it through the clouds and realize how hopeless things are for him. It's pretty great.
