First reaction to Elki's cookie thread: "No, fuck you."

My grandma never made me cookies so it'd be like... impossible

My grandmother is quite upset about what I've done to her cookies.

Last time I listen to the internet.

My gran's homemade biscuits were the stuff of legend, as were her amazing sausage rolls.

I'm beginning to think that the true measure of a grandmother's cookies are how fuckable they are. I think Elki is trying to expand our perception of reality.

I have to say, Captain Jack from the first season of the new Doctor Who series was the most excellent portrayal of a man who will flirt with anything I've ever seen on television.

Apparently he has entertained the cast members by sticking an entire fake arm where the sun don't shine. So either he's the ultimate method actor, or he's quite like his character.

I thought that too. The answer might be right, in which case Dunadan needs to both come back with something less ancient AND check his posts before submitting.

I watched the entirety of Doctor Who season 1 last night. This might have been a mistake. I have the (admittedly awesome) theme stuck in my head.

Also, since I'm a geek, I have to weigh in: maybe it's because I'm used to him at this point, but I much prefer Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor. David Tennant is good, but... I dunno, I just got attached to Eccleston.

City A and City C are both 9,000 miles from Boise, Idaho. Which is farther from City A?

    a) Boise
    b) City C
    c) not enough information to determine the answer.

Yes, they lie on a circle with radius 9,000 centered on Boise. They could overlap, or they could be connected by a perfectly straight 18,000 mile road.

well, it depends on how you measure the distance.

If you go through the earth to measure the distance you will get much different distances.

Also, the circumference of the Earth is only 24000 miles or so... if they were 18000 miles away they'd technically only be 6000 miles away from each other (just looking at it another way) but yeah, not enough info I think

Perhaps City A is Ironforge and City C is Old Ironforge, some distance below the current Ironforge in a direction putting it still 9,000 miles from Boise.

closer to 25 grand I think. but this is a good point. I think the new question should be what is the farthest apart cities A and B can be? Assuming distance is measured on the surface, not throught the earth.

So I noticed my brother had a prescription for herpes medication sitting around. Upon finding this I was just like "Okay, something I didn't know, but no need to ask about it."

Later he shows me that he has shingles. I was a bit relieved.
