Why does Gabe bother with penny arcade when he could probably go and do this political satire stuff for the washington post or something?

Political cartoons have fallen a long ways

I've seen old tyme political cartoons, like from the 1800s

    Shit was awesome back then

Uncle Sam with two cannons for fists taking on the King of England or some such

I don't get it. It needs more labels. Webcomics are just too confusing. They'll never approach the level of newspaper strips.

    naw

i prefer to think of the fear of sloths as having a noticeable effect on dwindling newspaper readership

shit, what if there was a sloth in your newspaper?

I've got a good script for a political cartoon

    it goes like this

MAN 1: What do you call it when the economy crashes?
    MAN 2: A depression.

God am I good or what

shit, what if there was a sloth in your newspaper?

Sloth on a street corner in a little hat.

    Newspaper in hand.

Trying to call out to people, but he can't because sloths don't vocalize.

Passers by look on in horror and cross to the other side of the street.

Sloth goes back to the editor of the newspaper, cap in hand, massive pile of newspapers at his side.

Editor beats the sloth. "Sell more damn papers you lazy furball!"

Love this comic so much, especially after seeing the kind of political cartoons that are just oh so snappy. I think I once punched a newspaper out of a friend's hands after I saw the awful cartoon emblazoned on the pages he was reading. They just irritate me.
