It had commercials on for a while that were not very funny. It comes on after Scrubs.
It stars
This man-hunk right here.
This sexpot
and
Wait holy crap she was on Arrested Development. That show is also funny. Also she's a lesbian. That's hot.
What's it about? Let's ask ABC
Spoiler:
"Better Off Ted" is a satirical office comedy about successful good guy, Ted, who runs research and development at the morally questionable Veridian Dynamics. No achievement is too far-fetched and no invention too unorthodox for Veridian. Need cow-less meat grown in a test tube? Done. Need pumpkins that also double as weapons of mass destruction? No problem. Ted's a single dad to a seven-year-old girl, and he loves his job, but he's starting to take a closer look at the company's extremely dubious practices. Do you manufacture the best teeth whitener ever if it could also kill off all of the planet's fish? Probably not, but...
Ted's also fighting an attraction to co-worker Linda, who enjoys small acts of rebellion against Veridian (she's secretly stealing and hoarding all the company's creamer packets). But he holds back about his true feelings. He's already had his self imposed "one office affair" with überboss Veronica. Incredibly beautiful (if seemingly devoid of conscience and also emotion-free), Veronica lets nothing get in her way when it comes to serving Veridian's needs... even if it means doing something like cryogenically freezing an employee for testing purposes. And after all, the employee, research scientist Phil, survived (after he thawed out). So what if he screams like an eagle at the slightest provocation? He and his best friend, fellow research scientist Lem, are both geniuses and when they're not bickering, they're responsible for many of Veridian's miracles of weird science.
Sound like something you'd like? Of course it does. And if it doesn't, then shut up and watch it and you'll realize that it does.
this show is on in between two of my favorite shows on TV (Scrubs and Lost) but I can't bring myself to care about it because the commercials were just overplayed and awful.
you know, i caught the end before LOST came on and sat there with a boner for portia
hmm
a similar reason is why I watched Castle.
boners for Stana Katic and Fillion. ABC is clearly playing the sex game to get my viewership.
castle is actually a decent show, though I can see how it could get repetitive after a while, with the sexual tension thing. The cases are pretty fascinating so far, and fillion is great as usual.
also, Cupid is great. they've just had two episodes air, but the first episode had connie from mighty ducks and the meet the spartans guy and the second episode had mary stuart masterson, who i will always love. the premise sounds cheesy, but its pretty amusing!
i've been meaning to check out better off ted, but ugh, abc.com. jeez, just put it on hulu
also, the last few episodes of pushing daisies is gonna be shown, thank goodness. thought i'd have to wait for the dvds, which would have killed me.
they've already established character quirks for most of the cast, had a few pretty funny moments, and set up an internal investigations/dirty cop mystery arc for i guess the rest of the season.
The Unusuals looked a little like Life in the whole "sardonic detective detects things" kinda way. Life might be my favorite show nobody is ever talking about. Damien Lewis is pretty hardass.

Life is pretty damn amazing. The ending to last nights episode? Wow.

It happened so fast (and I was playing WoW) that I had to go back and watch it again.
and it went out in the most insane, terrible way possible
I am glad it got cancelled because now my boner doesn't have to choose between Gretchen Mol and Rose Byrne (also Damages is a superior show in every possible fucking way).
RE: The Unusuals: it was pretty good but what's with the Lost numbers (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42) doing popping up in there?
edit: also RE: Grey's Anatomy: my vagina thinks the show is too girly, sorry Mori.
also, dang, reading my posts in this thread, i realize that i need to cut back on watching tv. but dvr and hulu makes watching stuff so dang easy. plus, the real world/road rules challenege just premiered this week!

I was about to say that there's no such thing as too much tv.
Then you said you watched a reality show. And I died a little bit.
where were the rest of the numbers, other than 42?
off the top of my head they refer to Squad 23 at least once. The others I didn't notice but I thought 23 and 42 both popping up to be a little suspicious.

Okay...well, I guess I'm a hypocrite, 'cause the one show I'll watch and love is Top Chef.

i enjoy this show. not amazing but pretty funny. i think it's gotten better each week, too.
I did not know it was by the Andy Richter Controls the Universe guys, so I'll have to give it a second try.

maybe I will actually pay attention next time.

well, better off ted looks like it needs to hit it's stride so it'll probably be cancelled soon.

really? i have it in my dvr, but haven't had a chance to catch it yet. that cast looks amazing.
also, i'm still wondering if that southland show with the oc guy is worth watching
it looks kind of retarded like Life on Mars.
Is life on mars canceled yet?
southland looks interesting from commercials but you just know it's going to devolve into weekly special heartfelt episodes, and fuck that shit.
They had the pilot on Hulu for a week and I watched it. It was alright. It feels like ER with Cops like I thought it would.

It was the first season one, the one with the dude in the fallout shelter and they're locked in there over Christmas.
