Dell Inspiron 5305 hangs on startup screen

I've had this problem before, but normally after a few reboots it finally gets past the opening screen, this time however it refuses to go past the opening 'Dell' screen with the F2 and F12 options, which dont respond. Im going in to get it checked out in a store, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there are any ways of fixing it / what you think it may be caused by.

I apologize if this is in the wrong forum aslo im not sure if this belonged here or in the technical forum.

Do you have any USB devices like an external HDD or Flash drive plugged in? I've noticed that when I have stuff like that in there, it can cause issues on start up.
