65 years ago on June 6, Forrest Gump, Good Will Hunting, the dude from Office Space, and a Ross from Friends were invading France and killing Krauts for our freedom.
So besides watching Band of Brothers on the history channel and maybe throwing in Saving Private Ryan on DVD, please go to http://www.majordickwinters.com/ and sign the petition to get Major Dick Winters the Congressional Medal of Honor for what he did on D-Day, specifically the assault on Brecourt Manor. He is all that is man for a quiet guy from Lancaster, PA.
If it wasn't for the heroic actions of these men during the real world version of Hoth, we wouldn't have a cool name for the star ship in the Mass Effect games.
