So Jet Li's every movie he has ever been in is a fucking awesome movie.

i'm not sure what this has to do with the Great Leader and everything, but Jet Li's recent movies have been pretty hit or miss. Romeo Must Die and Kiss of the Dragon for example, were pretty bad.

yeah I know they aren't technically great movies but I still really liked them.

Iran's Controversial Election Results Raises Questions Over Its Relations to U.S.
But U.S. officials are skeptical of the outcome, in which the government declared President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the winner Saturday.

U.S. analysts find it "not credible" that challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi would have lost the balloting in his hometown
or that a third candidate, Mehdi Karoubi, would have received less than 1 percent of the total vote, a senior U.S. officials told FOX News.

Despite a reportedly record turnout of 85 percent, the senior official said given the "not credible" counts for Mousavi and Karoubi, the turnout clearly was questionable.

Yeah so this is like when Saddam would be re-elected garnering 100% of the popular vote.

6:12 PM ET -- "Deafening." From a reader: "My next door neighbor is an Iranian immigrant who came here in 1977. He just received a SAT phone call from his brother in Tehran who reports that the rooftops of nighttime Tehran are filled with people shouting 'Allah O Akbar' in protest of the government and election results. The last time he remembers this happening is in 1979 during the Revolution. Says the sound of tens of thousands on the rooftops is deafening right now." It's almost four in the morning in Iran.

I also saw a post urging people in Tehran to do this. Was it in a Youtube 'more info' box, or Twitter, or...I can't remember.

I am going to make sure we play that "Let's Get a Party Goin'" song like 37 times tonight.

Edit: Man, I bet if we play that song in Iran everything will work itself out.

The 1953 Iranian coup d’état was the Western-led covert operation that deposed the democratically-elected government of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammed Mosaddeq.[1][2][3] The coup was organized by the United States' CIA and the United Kingdom's MI6, two agencies that aided royalists and mutinous Iranian army officers in overthrowing the Prime Minister.[4] CIA officer Kermit Roosevelt, Jr. carried out Operation Ajax which was organized by CIA agent Donald Wilber.[5] The plan helped retired Iranian General Fazlollah Zahedi. The CIA history, written by Wilber, called the operation TPAJAX with the TP preceding AJAX indicating it was a covert operation that took place in Iran.[6][7]
After the coup, Mossadegh, Iran's popularly elected leader, was taken to jail and Roosevelt carried out the plan devised by Wilber to install Imperial Guard Colonel Nematollah Nassiri to establish a pro-US and pro-UK government. To carry out the plan, Roosevelt and Wilber bribed Iranian government officials, reporters, and businessmen.[8]
This Anglo–American coup d’état was to ensure Western control of Iran's petroleum resources and to prevent the Soviet Union from competing for Iranian oil.[9][10][11][12] Moreover, the Iranian motivations for deposing Prime Minister Mosaddeq included reactionary clerical dissatisfaction with a secular government, fomented with CIA propaganda.[8]

So North Korea is probably getting a little jeleous over how much attention Iran is getting.

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/06/16/nkorea.journalists/index.html
North Korea's state media released a "detailed report" Tuesday claiming that American journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee entered the country illegally in order to record material for a "smear campaign" against the reclusive communist state.

It added that the two women "admitted that what they did were criminal acts ... prompted by the political motive to isolate and stifle the socialist system of the DPRK by faking up moving images aimed at falsifying its human rights performance and hurling slanders and calumnies at it."

Ling and Lee were sentenced this month to 12 years of hard labor in North Korea.

They were arrested in March for "having illegally trespassed into the border of the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea, as North Korea is officially known] and committed hostile acts against it for which they were tried."

I'm going to take this with a large grain of salt, seeing as North Korea views any visiting foreigner as a threat, and has a pretty good history of falsifying prisoner testaments.
