Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I installed Half Life from the generations box and am having trouble finding information if its possible to run it at 1440 x 900. All my googlings bring up HL2 stuff and I cant find an .ini to edit. Any ideas?

I'm not sure but I honestly doubt it. it's a pretty old game and most games won't break a certain resolution

I am able to run HL1 at 2048x1152. Is your copy fully patched? I am using the steam version.
Patched as far as I can, but it isnt the steam version. I bought the generations box second hand and someone had already registered the key with steam.
Did you select the right aspect ratio? It should be settable from the graphics menu, you just need to pick an aspect ratio before it will display the right options. I seem to recall spending 15 minutes or so trying to figure that out when I got a widescreen.
Fully updated HL runs gigantic resolutions, and it's cheap on Steam. So just buy that.
Half Life Source looks a lot nicer. Black Mesa of course looks fucking awesome.
The Widescreen Gamer's wiki says you have to edit the autoexec.cfg file to change the FOV to get proper width. 100 for 16:10, 105 for 16:9 It also says that (as mentioned previously) that widescreen resolutions should be avaliable if you select widescreen in the options.
