Taxi Driver is fantastic and is almost endlessly rewatchable

Bringing Out the Dead was unwatchable.

Cloverfield was one of my favorite movies of last year. It's still good to watch at home, but in theaters it was an experience.

    I love Cloverfield

unfortunately it was on of the movies all my friends decided to go watch without me while I was at work

bunch of fucking DICKS I was so excited for that movie

oh well long story short they need to release a kickass special edition of Cloverfield so I can buy it

    I wasn't even there!

then I wasn't talking about you, was I!

    NO

I watched the 2-and-some-odd hours of extras on Alien, and that movie was in jeopardy for awhile

it was also apparently not much fun to make

More movies should aspire to be like Cloverfield.

It just seemed like a good call back to the days when going to the theater was an actual experience, and you had no idea going in what was going to happen.

I know I can't trust myself to not spoil myself on interesting story leeks and trivia (god knows I spent the first couple months leading up to the film trying to find a screen grab of the monster) and in the end I was pretty thankful that J.J. Abrams saved me from myself. I really think this helped with my appreciation of the film and is something I did again when Star Trek rolled around.

Except in that case I had to force myself not to spoil anything instead of relying on the director.

I liked Cloverfield partially because I'm amazed at some of the stuff they did combining CGI and special effects
