    Actually he has a vested interest in hurting your feelings. Since your argument is based entirely upon them, the more he can hurt, damage, and destroy your feelings the more he weakens and undermines your argument.

    Just because you get your way, doesn't somehow mean you have a valid argument. However given how our last election resembled American Idol, your plan of running for office to spite him is a valid one.

    Well, the political importance of being "tough on crime" has already been covered in this thread.

    If we could get people to use their heads more and make knee-jerk emotional responses less we'd have fewer retarded laws and fewer murders.

    It really is stupid, they got married recently and she's pregnant. He's going to be a sex offender forever because their relationship started when she was just barely underage, my dad is 10 years older than my mom but it's okay because they started when he was 30 and she was 20?

    Man sometimes I think about our legal system and get really depressed.

    Ehh. People whose income is dependent on selling drugs don't want them legalized, so it would probably be split. A more realistic problem would probably be racism in prison, and whether views expressed in the general population (all blacks voting for Obama, all whites voting for McCain) would carry over in an actual secret ballot.

    The irrational policy already exists. There's a pretty graphic that explains all that in the OP. That's the problem.
