College Football 2009: To hell with FSU

 I love how TTUN fans pick on someone else at the kid's table and let grownup teams win games.
I cannot wait to shut you guys up in two/three years.
I look forward to it. That way the game will have renewed ferocity.
There was an argument?
"That Team Up North" or sometimes "That School Up North" was Woody Hayes' way of referring to Michigan.

Well played, bum.
Our football players beat women and frat boys, your coach engages in shady real estate deals, defaults on his debts, gets involved in Watergate-esque scandals with his former employer, and treats his players like slaves.
Sounds pretty even to me.
I'd like to see Bowden on ESPN next year. Anything's better than Lou Holthz thlobbering and thpitting all over the set.
I hate that USC is playing Arizona this weekend. It's so anti-climactic. Probably for Arizona too.
my unofficial autobio will be accompanied with tips on how to smile
cause I've found that when they don't see you frown, they never know that you're a threat
and they don't sweat you when you came around
I would also like to see this.
It seems like every major college team here in Michigan is trying to look like a giant gang of morons. Eastern couldn't win a single game, Western lost to a 1-10 team on national TV, Michigan imploded over the last half of the season, and now Michigan State just threw everything they've worked for under the bus. The only team in Michigan left with a decent chance of winning a bowl now is Central Michigan, and being that they're Central Michigan, I'm inclined to pull for the team that's going to squash them live on national TV, and then hope half of CMU's team declares for the pro draft.
I'm sure it means something, but I'd rather they'd just have played Arizona earlier. Both schools already played their rivalry games.
This strikes me more as the Pac-10 wanting to draw attention during conference title game week, since the Pac-10 doesn't have a conference title game. USC is the highest-profile team they have, so they got scheduled.

Yeah, I can't explain it.
That's the sort of underhanded stuff we already expect from Urban Meyer. Other tactics include talking shit about other schools the kid is considering, rather than sticking to Florida's good points.
But hey, recruiting is war, I guess. Though that won't stop Florida from catching feelings the next time Lane Kiffin opens his fat mouth.
It's to give the teams a bye again.
Lane Kiffin took yet another opportunity to take a shot at Florida today.

This?
that looks wonderful
I don't know if you've noticed, but a month+ of time off apparently has bad effects on some teams.
Let 'em eat fucking pineapples!
Yeah, it was 07-08.

Actually, pretty much every season. Being in the MNC just makes it worse.
Notre Dame did the same thing to us not all that long ago with Sam Young, so I'm not about to show all that much pity when guys like 5 star rated defensive end Chris Martin decommit with us taking a place high on their list.
If you think talking shit about other schools recruits are considering is not common, you must be on the same alcohol quantity that made Dunlap fall asleep at the wheel.

I know recruiting is a nasty, brutish business. When a kid Florida wanted chose LSU, Florida called the NCAA and tried to get the kid's ACT score invalidated.
Which is why I wonder why some people get their panties all bunched when Lane Kiffin calls it out for what it is. Or get all upset when they bring in an Oklahoma verbal commit to visit campus to try to get him to de-commint from OU and he starts peddling OU to your other recruits.
If one is going to use underhanded tactics, one doesn't get to whine and demand public apologies when other people use similar tactics against them.
