    you assume correctly

they are the two "kings" of cheesesteaks, huge tourist location etc. I mean, neither of them are (IMO) the best cheesesteaks, but they give you the real cheesesteak experience.

There are lots of places that claim the title of best though. It's tough to narrow down.

all the cheesesteaks i've seen have onions or peppers or mushrooms or other things on them and those didn't appeal to me

i should try one with just meat and cheese

I don't care for onions or peppers either, just ask for them without.

Also, the cheeze whiz shit is not cool. Provolone or american cheese. Also, where I live north of Philly it's common to get a red marinara style sauce on a steak sandwich too, so there's a lot of debate on who's sauce is the best. It's usually red sauce, american cheese, onion, and pickles.

Shut up queermo. It's an option, and provolone or american cheese is a superior choice.

Yeah, which is why I said that Pats/Genos are really just the major tourist attraction as far as cheesesteaks go.

I'd much rather go to Tony Lukes or Dallesandros in Manayunk.

    Also marinara = pizza steak
cheez wiz = real cheesesteak, but not as delicious as american

Chicago is a fucking great place to eat too.

Last time I was there I ate at the Chicago Chop House. I had a Porterhouse Steak that could feed an army. It's pricey but the place was fantastic.

Yeah Chicago is a great place to go broke getting fat.

Next time hit up Gibson's or Hugo's Frog Bar. They share the same kitchen and you can order off either menu.

A little touristy, but having scallops the size of your fist and frog legs for an appetizer followed by a porter house which crushes the plate under it's weight and a re-baked potato the size of a football is goddamn good eating.

I'm not as fat as you would think. For a Chicagoian, anyway.
