He's a Cyran soldier who died in battle, who rose from the dead as a result of the Mourning. He doesn't remember most of his life (brief flashes here and there) and doesn't remember his own name.
So any name he'd have would most likely be one that's given to him, probably a title or nickname of some kind.

I'm not sure having a name is appropriate. You are the representative of every dead warrior and lost citizen of a fallen nation. You are unknown and nameless; when you do answer to something, it should be no more than 'Cyran'. That is your reason; that is who you are.
For an unnamed soldier you might consider the Malazan Army naming procedure, naming him after a physical or persona trait. Or an event that happened when he first met people.
Or a thing that can be associated with him.
