Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
So my wife doesn't like many video games, but she loves Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari. Since she's pretty much gotten everything in both games, I'm trying to find more games like them.
I have a PS2, PS3 and Wii. I think the key things are simple gameplay and easy pace. Can anyone suggest something for me to try?
I haven't played it, but you might want to try Noby Noby Boy on PSN. It's made by the same guy who did Katamari Damacy. I've heard it's more of a playground type thing than game, though.

The Maw on XBL is kinda like that. But instead of rolling things over your slowly feeding an entire planet to your gelatonious friend with the mentallity of a ravenous, cowardly chihuahua.
This cosmic dance bursting decadence and withheld permissions twists all our arms collectively, but if sweetness can win- and it can, then I'll still be here tomorrow to high five you yesterday, my friends. Peace Trueachievements Profile | Gamertag: EyeRChris
De Blob on the Wii would be perfect. I just started playing it but the first thing I noticed was the Katamari similarities. You basically paint a black and white city by rolling around a paint infused blob. The music is great, the character design and animation are well done and the controls are simple. Even the idea of "get xx percent and open up a new city area" are similar. I picked it up for $18 used at Gamestop.
Try Elebits on the Wii. Simplistic story line. Lots of picking things up and throwing them and expanding your capabilities in-stage to pick up bigger things (much like rolling a ball).
i don't see why sony doesn't take advantage of the six-axis-blahblahblah of the ps3 controller and do a port of archer maclean's mercury that was originally designed to have a plug-in tilt sensor via the usb but that part never came to life.
World of Goo is a must-download Wiiware (or, alternatively, buy it for the PC). It's a great solid few days of gameplay (weeks if you're really anal about doing your absolute best), so even though replayability is kind of 'meh' (at least for me), the game itself is solid.
Thanks for the suggestions! I got flOw and Noby Noby Boy from PSN; she likes flOw, but Noby Noby Boy is a little off-putting, with its lack of goals.
I'm taking a look at de Blob now. There are two more Katamari games coming out for the PS3: Katamari Forever and Beautiful Katamari, but those won't be out for a few months.
So I've heard vague things about Flower, but what is the gameplay like?
You are the wind.
You fly around using the motion control of the PS3 controller.
Your goal is to fly through flowers, causing them to bloom. As you do this, you change the environment around them (dead grass comes to life, lights turn on, etc.). It's pretty simple, really.

Oh OK, so the same type of control as flOw?
I've actually never played flOw, but I've heard people compare the two games. Not too surprising I guess since the same developer made them.
edit: flOw is pretty much 2D, though, right? Flower is 3D.

Yeah, flOw is basically 2D. Thanks, I'll check this out!

I think you just sold me on a game I've heard nothing about.
It's fun, and it's only $20.
So, so pretty.
