Unable to boot Windows 7 [SOLVED]

The problem: My Win7 machine wasn't booting without the disc in the drive, instead giving a 'Bootmgr is missing' error. Now, I've left my disc at a friend's house and will be unable to retrieve it until Tuesday.
What I've tried: Downloaded EasyBCD, connected my Win7 HDD to my netbook with a SATA/USB adapter. I tried to rewrite the MBR for my Win7 partition, but now it's just giving me a "Windows failed to load" error when I try to boot, and suggests I do a repair install. I can access the Win7 ISO from my netbook, if that helps.

edit: Ok, ended up re-downloading the RC and making a bootable USB. Ugh.
