The thing I'm most hyped about? Playing multi and nobody knows the whole damned game yet! That's why I gave up on multi D2. I'm tooling about in the fields killing things and all of the sudden the other three guys are in Act 2.

Amen to that. I don't mind being humbled by a boss, overpowered character, or swarm of enemies every once in awhile, but that shit got a bit ridiculous.

I'm playing Diablo II again. G&T are all like "play with us on East!" (Aussies are mostly on West) but I don't think many of them are actually on to play at all :x

Fuckin' Rakinashu, or whatever the little lightning enchanted fucker guarding the Tristram stones was called.
Ended my one and only Hell Hardcore attempt. Hated him.
I never really tried a Hardcore run. I just knew my fist would end up going through the monitor over getting killed permanently and probably to something stupid too.
Rakanishu is the little annoying cunt by the stones but far worse than him is Bish Bosh, the named shaman from early on in Act 1.
First time in Hell Difficulty, ran up to him, so many fucking charged bolts unleashed at once they no longer had definition, just amorphous blobs of pure death in every fucking direction.
Couple friends of mine played D2 religiously for years, and amassed a folder full of screenshots of randomly generated named monsters that had the name 'Flame Flame.'
I play on Vista and it never crashes for me. *shrugs*
Playing in windowed mode sucks balls though; 800 x 680 resolution or whatever it is. I never played Diablo II on an 11" screen.
I run 32 bit vista.

So do I! Clearly my computer is just magic. I guess I only picked it up again a week ago so maybe the crashing is yet to begin, though I think I played my US West character on my current computer and I can't remember having any problems.
Anyone here bothered reading the Diablo novels? Besides this trilogy based on the Sin War, the only other one that stuck out in my mind was this one called 'Legacy Of Blood' It revolved around this guy who puts on this cursed piece of armor that used to belong to a warlord who used to paint it up each morning with the blood of his fallen enemies. I kinda remember 'Moon Of The Spider' too, since it had this badass Necromancer in it..
Defense of the Ancients is being developed into its own game, it is called Heroes of Newerth.

There are at least 3 games I know trying to pull off dota outside of Warcraft that. League of Legends (which if I'm not mistaken has Guinsoo involved who made earlier editions of dota), S2 games' version (the guys who made Savage) which is Heroes of Newerth and Demigod.
the thing is league of legends and demigod are their own interpretations of dota, whereas heroes of newerth is an exact copy of dota, just on a new prettier engine with the names changed around a bit

Yeah, it especially blows since I wanted to play it with the wife on her laptop, but since she has Vista it just crashed every time I tried to play.
But that was before I had the laptop, so hey, maybe she could play on the PC while I play on my laptop.
Also, I hope Warcraft 4 is revealed, and part of me kind of hopes it'll overlook WoW, but I doubt that.
